I really had to do a double take when I saw the 21 positive reviews for this game. It should be Very Positve 211 reviews tbqh. This game is a shooter; you shoot bad guys to keep them away from a sentient carrort. Doesn't sound that exciting? It is. Not only are there plenty of power ups but you get single player AND co op mode story. ( To be fair, I haven't tried the co-op yet ) You can unlock more characters and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I can see myself putting a lot of time into this one. Highly recommended. :) :) :)
Buggy and abandoned - but still worth it!
This game has really cool graphics, lovely sounds and music, and a great lively theme with good humor. Even though it has a lot of bugs (annoying but not "show-stopper" bugs) I still readily recommend this at the ~$3 asking price. I'm very sad that this game appears to be abandoned by the original developers, but it's not hard to figure out why. It's pretty clear they developers spent most of their time working on the graphics, unlock-able characters, unlock-able music, item upgrades, etc, etc, etc, but they didn't spend enough time where it *really counts* - the gameplay. I'm not sure when in the gaming zeitgeist unlocking hats and other nonsense took a front-seat to core gameplay, but this is where Of Carrots and Blood suffers - There is only one arena; Only a few powerups that aren't well-thought-out; Only 5 enemy types; Repetitive music that sounds absolutely amazing but can only loop for so long before you go crazy; and so forth... The game is very fun to play, and each arena combat session takes only a few minutes. My current high score is around 435 with the online leader-board scores beginning around 1,000. And that score took me all of 2 minutes. I really appreciate that I don't need to spend 20+ minutes in each game session. Each time I sit down to play for "just 2 minutes", I end up playing several more rounds than I planned - it keeps me interested! Buy it, but basically understand this: you're getting a primitive, one-screen arena shooter with a bunch of other meaningless junk tacked-on. You can unlock something like 20 characters but each one plays exactly like the others. So... why didn't they spend all the extra time making the game portion better instead? Anyways, if you like twin stick shooters and you appreciate short play sessions, get this for asking price or on sale. I'm surprised I've spent as much time playing it as I have, considering there really isn't much there when you strip it all down to the core gameplay.

What a simple game. This game is really fun, I really like the 2d pixel shooter feeling. There are a decent amount of things to unlock in this game even though there is one singleplayer mode. It might be hard to play multiplayer but, I hope they will add more and more things to this game to game make it overall better. Aside from some problems, this game is still really fun and I would recommend it, even for its price.

For the price that this game was offered I feel like i stole the game. The addictability factor is through the roof, collecting each character and getting better and better is a amazing feeling Each character throws a different projectile which creates so much suspense when you first use a new charatcer " what will this one throw " I ask myself everytime the wierdly designed scientists fuses the brains and dna points This game has crazy detail with gore. After you get 100+ kills most of the grass would be stained with blood from all your enemies and its so cool I bought this game for $0.89 since it was on sale... totally worth it.

THIS game is fun for 1 hour only and not playable unless ur a freak like me that spent over 12 hours on this madness chaotic game!Has decent premise but nothing sets the boundary of being fun or having any other world or containing level into creativity zones! I SAY its either recommend or not recommended!Since im not going to be a douche im going to give it a recommended if your in for arcade carrot blasting shooting fun for a short time but nothing else will impress you! Wow! A game made of Unity that is not bad? That is quite an accomplishment. The game is fun, really fun. But it has a major downfall: It's full of Youtube bullsh!t And by that I mean it was made to put youtubers as playable characters to sell the game to their fans, instead of making original and cool characters. What a waste of potential. I'm sick of it. But the game is good overall, it has a lot of action, enemies pop up all the time, and if you have a friend to play with it gets even better. Some good power-ups are included, and they really help to reach the end of the game. I'm just gonna point TWO things that really destroy the gameplay: Number 1: “The gameplay is super addictive...and I love the kissing mechanic!” Alexander Pieper. Co-Founder Studio Fizbin This is under Review section on the description of the game. He says he loves the kissing mechanic. I can't tell how many times me and my wife DIED because we are trying to escape the enemies and we accidentally touched each other and kissed automatically, because this is how you do it, it's AUTOMATIC. They really should have made a button for it, as the arena is very small, and sooner or later you gonna run through your partner. Number 2: You SHOULD NOT be able to damage the carrot at the center of the arena (the one you have to protect, of course), because it is almost impossible to kill hordes without firing against it in a desperate way. And every hit takes 2% of Carrot life, and that's alot, as it can die very quickly too. Your bullets should go through that, for sure would make the game much more fun to play. I want to give it a "middle rating", but if you can get around the Youtube shit that comes with the game, it's very fun.

Ehhhhh I'm gonna have to pass on upvoting Carrots and Blood. By all means there is a cute little game here, and the asking price is hardly an issue - but there's just too much great competition in the arena twinstick genre. I also feel this one is a bit grindy to hide it's fairly small content. And again, for the price, the amount of content is reasonable. Essentially, this is an arena twinstick best played with local co-op. You fight waves of enemies who are trying to get to the center of the arena where there is a giant carrot you need to protect. The characters are cute in a cartoony kind of way but the whole actual 'game' part feels pretty ho-hum. There are some nice unlockable buffs and characters, but again, the grind is very real here. Pros: +The asking price reflects the content, and I have no complaints in that department +Local co-op was fun enough, but I'd just as soon play many other higher-quality local co-op twinsticks (see 10Tons catalog just to start) Cons: -Pretty mediocre affair; gaming time and money is precious and limited so why play second rate titles? -Very grindy, and I couldn't really play it in anything other than super short bursts -Nothing too fresh added (at all) to the twinstick arena shooter/zombie rush genre This is one of those down-votes where it's not about the small asking price, and it's not even that the game is terrible per-se, it's about gaming time being precious and limited - go play one of the many many other great local co-op twinsticks out there.

Simple gameplay but with enough bonus content to keep you entertained and coming back for more. Controls are very responsive which is a must for any good game. Highly recommend a controller on this one. Lots of unlockables and a few secrets hidden around.
