Definitely worth playing with friends. The game holds up mechanics wise, despite being so old. I was pleasantly surprised how good the gameplay is, however, the game itself is quite simple and has 0 active player base. There is also essentially no singleplayer gameplay other than the practice mode where hordes of npcs spawn the more that you play. The only reason you should get this game is if you intend to get some friends together.
Also disclaimer; I bought this game on sale for $1. The original price of $10 would be reasonable if it had active servers, but I personally would wait for a sale and send a copy to a friend or two.
