A cool little point and click that has the vibe and feel of an old 90's point and click.
As someone who enjoys the Cthulhu mythos most of the story did not come as a surprise but it was still fun to uncover them in this new light. I do think I enjoyed the game more knowing what I was in store for.
I do think I need to warn new players that the 2nd half of the game feels more obtuse with puzzles that have non-explained ways of controlling and sudden additional mechanics that might turn off a lot of people so keep that in mind. The first half however was more of a straightforward point and click and was very enjoyable to play.
That said, I think I would give this game a 4 out of 5.

As a big fan of the Cthulhu mythos, this game really delivered. The point-and-click format lends itself perfectly to this kind of storytelling, and I wasn’t bored for a single minute. The puzzles were incredibly smart (some had me scratching my head for a while) and there are also some brilliantly grim game overs for making foolish choices.
The endgame, though, is the real highlight. It immerses you in the main character’s situation in a way that feels authentic and unsettling, and the final twist was the perfect payoff.
Visually, the game uses a retro pixel art style reminiscent of classic LucasArts adventures. Far from feeling dated, it really enhances the atmosphere, amplifying the creepiness and nostalgia in equal measure.
Even if you haven’t read The Shadow Over Innsmouth, this is a gripping and eerie tale that stands on its own. I’d definitely recommend it to horror fans and point-and-click adventure enthusiasts alike. I was so engrossed, I ended up finishing it in just one night.
