i love shmups, i almost let this one pass me by. it just didnt look interesting to me. but it was on sale and the reviews seemed pretty positive. the game mechanics and controls are pretty darn good. its fast and frentic, at first i said to myself the graphics are kinda awful, but after playing, you lose sight of that really quickly. too much dodging to just keep up. its a pretty hard game, but once you get the hang of it you start asking yourself how did i ever survive that wave of bullets. its a very satisfying experience.

This game really scratches that shmup itch! It's very easy to pick up and play, and you can get going within seconds, Aside from all the usual options desired by shmuppers (rotatable screen being the main one), you can also change the music pack used by the game. I haven't tried out the option just yet, but I imagine I could use Cave's music, for example. I'm not one for longer reviews, but I also want to praise the music and the art, since it becomes immediately clear that a lot of love was put into both these aspects. It feels a bit like I'm playing an Amiga game, and this is high praise in my book.

I rate the game ZenoHell 2.5/5. Not particularly good overall. Almost OK but for 10 dollars, this schmup is overpriced. Great sense of speed but I wish it had better graphics to go along with that. There are better games out there for the same price (Crimzon Clover: World Ignition, for example). +Easy and responsive controls which have a classic feel. +3 ships to control. +Lots of gameplay options. +Easy menus. +No bugs. +Extremely challenging but allows you to use as many 'continues' as you want. +/-Extremely bad graphics except the game does feature a nice sense of speed. Unfortunately the landscapes which scroll by are mind-numbingly repetitive. +/-This game has a brief background story but it lacks detail. -The retro styled chip-tunes music is only catchy in a few places. Mostly it's just either mediocre or irritating. -Boring, uninteresting bosses and enemies. -Repetitive, low-quality sound effects. -High system requirements, particularly when one considers how truly simple, even primitive, the graphics are.

Not many bullet hell shumps but this one really deserves a go The bullet hell dodging and enemy bullets are really challenging, Fans of donpachi give it a try. I didnt like the weapons system honestly. Select diff ships for diff weapons. Thu out the game you only can power up. No weapon changing items drop. No " HOLD TO FIRE CONCENTRATE LASER". Juz hold your Shot button all the way and also sometimes Slowdown ship to focus dodging. Still practising.

I am enjoying this game quite a bit. It's a standard space shooter with lots of action that never lets up. The ship selection is good, it has really cool looking spaceship bosses, the controls are simple, and I am very greatful to the developers for providing the option of an unlimited continue, arcade mode for people like me that are unspeakably terrible at shoot-em-up games. The game is definitely a lot of fun for some arcade action.

Fun and satisfying arcade mode TLB 1-all. Initially thought it'd be easier than it actually is. Well played/made, Team Grybanser Fox. *flips bird*

Awesome shmup. Very smooth and responsive with a pumping soundtrack. I found the levels exciting from start to finish; no dull spots. Seems faster than most shmups out there, which is a refreshing change. Highly recommended

Very generic 90 arcade classic shmup (not bullet hell). The controls are excelent and precise and has modern conveniences such a focus button and a small hitbox. The presentation is bad (both audio and graphics) looks like a drawing in ms paint of a children. The bullet visibility could be improved in some areas for 2 reasons, sometimes does not blend well with the background and sometimes because the graphics are so awfull that your eyes will have trouble to focus on then and even in the first plays you will have trouble understanding what they are. There are 2 levels of dificulty . the patterns of bullets and enemyes are ok but uninspired and repeat a lot. Game is hard and that would be ok as it is a shmups, but in some instances some patterns are a death sentence as your ship does not have speed enough to dodge and you have to rely on memorization of the position of the enemy. In that sense it could have more balance. Finally there are unlockables that require a lot of grinding to get currency and you probably loose the interest in the game. Buy it if you are really into shmups and if it is with a big discount (at least 80%). It is a playable game, has precise controls and modern conveniences and can be fun for some time. superior to the most shovelware of shmups that we see on steam as at least the mechanics and control are mnostly solid.

I wanted to like this game, given how much I like Zenodyne R by the same team, but...

The graphical quality is mediocre - it's supposed to look "retro", but it really just looks like it was all done in MS Paint.
It's too graphically "busy" - it is waaaay too easy to miss bullets and powerups coming at you because they all blend into the background.
It's too fast - Fast is practically a necessity in a shmup, but not how it's done here: it's impossible to dodge so it quickly becomes completely about memorization, which would be fine except the gameplay isn't designed for that and the enemy bullets are unrecognizable.
Gameplay is pretty boring - at the end of the day it's a bland shooter with little variety.
Skip this and get Zenodyne R by the same team. Every point listed above is fixed in the sequel.

Wow, what a brilliant game and experience. Hard as nails but totrally exhilerating and addictive. Just done first run and credit spammed to the end. However, with this type of shmup I doubt I'll 1 cc it -certainly not for a LONG time-, but it's just so addicting to play trying not to crashnd burn for as long as possible and then trying again. Special mention must go to the soundtrack. It's just incredible - techno type music that melds you to the game and then on the final stage it suddenly changes to a Toaplan type OST which sounds incredible, before going more modern again. Ok, that's initial impressions- Buy it if u like high octane 90s style shmups-it's great.
