Another great addition to this game with its accessories and characters, Yordana and Griotte are my personal faves in this expansion, a great choice between having control over the map, or just so many dice that you keep dropping them everywhere.

If you've ever had a hard time getting a rot victory, Fang makes that a piece of cake. He has one of the most powerful abilities of any heroe that can turn you into a nigh unstoppable juggernaught

This DLC is definitely worth it due to Griotte the Butcher Baroness and Fang The Exiled. The other two characters are still playable but are definitely not on the same playing level.

If one person in your game has this everyone can use the characters it adds. Once again strong characters added in. Griotte gains extra clan dice for every peril you play to the board. I like this mechanic alot personally. With this she ends up becoming very strategic during the day like other rats playing loads of perils, but then at nightfall she becomes a bruiser melee character that can take on the wolves if she wanted. Fang starts with one rot and if you can hit an enemy with 3 more damage than they have health (slaughter) his special ability stops them from retaliation. This allows Fang to be slotted with entirely offensive gear. He's a bit of an on the fense character though. I like playing him but his weaknesses are pretty obvious. His low spirit means even with 1 rot head start it's hard to get corrupted and the rot will likely just be a hinderence when fighting banes and the king, and obviously the 1 damage during the day. Also his special only works when you're doing the attacking so his defense kind of lacks. Lastly he sucks at perils, though if you give him wits he does have some chance with those kinds. He's fun to play but if you're against anyone that knows his weaknesses prepare for heartache. If you use stealth though it could help you get around without 100 perils and spells dropped on you. Hargrave goes into overwatch when he ends his turn on a plain or mountain tile. This ability kind of acts like rivers arrow except that it's defensive. Whenever someone moves in a nearby tile you will shoot them for 1 heart of damage, if someone has to walk around you this can lead up to some huge damage if they don't attack you. That said his ability is also a curse. If you go into overwatch near the palace you'll end up shooting at the guards, making it very easy to gain a bounty (maybe because of this he gains more use from the royal pardon than others). With a bounty you become a source of gold and prestige for others so gaining them so easily is an issue. Additionally because it's only some tiles you'll spend alot more time unstealthed and easy to cast spells and perils on, unlike other characters that will spend alot of time hiding in the forests. Blizzard is bad for him since it'll force him off his mountain tiles possibly knocking him out of overwatch, also false orders to move guards next to him so he gains bounties seems viable. Lastly Yordana, I freaking love this character. She's a crazy bag lady bear. Her animations are great, I love that she fights with a spoon, and the fact that some people call her soup bear. She can sacrifice spells to her cauldron to gain unique pact spells (at most 1 per turn). She's very weak in combat with only 2 fight but she's probably the second best caster after Sana. Her ability only costs 1 magic to use no matter the card, and can burn as many as you want even though you only gain 1 pact card regardless. This allows Yordana to cycle her hand incredibly agressively, she also doesn't have issues with cards like crystalize, which can really hurt a spell character not going for spirit stones as it costs 6 magic. Her pact spells range from fairly trivial to really good. In total she can (from most useless to most useful): Gain 1 hp when target kills an enemy, cause target to have harder perils, cause target to have -2 fight if they attack you, stealth you from target, and steal 1 point from targets highest stat. She is, however, very easy to kill in combat. Still probably my favorite character in the game.

If blessed with control over several settlements, the rat is hard to beat and very fun to play. You rarely get so much use of the trickery cards with any other character.

It should be noted that this is a pack of heroes, and rings, and an amulet. It costs less than four skins from some heroes. This represents the correct price for marketing content whereas the skin prices are still out of whack even after they reduced them when laughably they cost more than the game itself. League of Geeks, sort your pricing and your content out, seriously. I should not have to keep writing this, but apparently I do. Get this content pack if you have the game since you'll need it to keep current, but don't hand them money for hero skins until they drop to appropriate pricing. And as an aside - Your community policing is still abysmal, I just noticed another ban laid down for what I can only deem to be "squashing people who critique your product", you're not very good at this whole managing your community are you? Using them, possibly.

This DLC is a very nice little addition to Armello, with beautifully crafted characters. BUT I would strongly advise anyone who is still quite new to Armello to get either the Userpers or Bandit Clan DLCs first before this one. This because these Rivals characters, though adding a whole new level of tact and fun to the game, will not necessarily give you an easier win, if anything quite the opposite. Each new character has an ability which requires thought to use well along with a familiarity with the mechanics of the base game. They also each have glaring faults, which makes them both fun to play with and against, and means you have to think to use them successfully (no rushing blindly straight for the throne). All in all a very fun add on pack for anyone who already knows the basics of Armello and will add a whole new depth of play(styles) and intrigue for more experienced players.

For nearly 3 years, the masses have struggled with the ever difficult rot victory. No more! Fang only knows kill, slaughter, and victory. The satisfaction of entering a rot battle with the King of Armello and knowing your mighty roar will crush his feeble attempts at counter-attack brings nothing but joy. Sure, the rat trickery rat is fun, the anti-spell bear is interesting, and the "get off my lawn" rabbit is delightfully goofy. But, the pure unbridled joy of killing everything that crosses your path with a full kit of attack items is too good to pass up.
