Story is pretty mid, main bad guys and side characters are annoying af, gameplay loop is nothing new. Rules of the universe are also not clearly defined so they are coming up with new rules as they go. I didn't even finished the game, it failed to catch my attention and i felt like this game is just not worth the time you would invest. If you are into mindless shooting, go ahead and buy it, otherwise even if it is on sale, skip this one.

Lots of great improvements from BL2. I think Gearbox did a fantastic job of listening to their player base, and improving upon a game play formula people enjoyed in the past, and made a fresh new game out of it. My personal favorite improvements in BL3 include multiple action skills per character, action skill augments, character class mods now invest points into skills without the need of upfront skill point investment. These improvements open an insane variety of potential builds to contribute to Borderlands' addicting game play. The DLCs in BL3 are also fantastic. What I DON'T like about Borderlands 3 is the endgame. Specifically mayhem mode. Borderlands 2 endgame was difficult enough to make you think strategically about how you engage in combat, and how you go about building your character to gain full benefit from all skills and equipment. The last thing I want is a bunch of gimmick modifiers added at random to throw everything off and have me redo and nitpick all my previous gear/skill choices. Luckily, Borderlands 3 still has great endgame game play without the use of mayhem mode. Also I don't know if this is factually correct or if its just a feeling I have.. but Borderlands 3 seems to be incredibly saturated with legendary weapons. By the time I was level 50 (in a game with a 72 lvl cap) my entire arsenal was nearly all orange. With every character. Red chests and bosses drop legendaries too often. Ammo vending machines seemed to almost always have a legendary grenade mod for sale as well. Kind of numbs you to any excitement you're supposed to have when you finally see orange drop after a tough boss fight. Overall I do love the game. I think its a decent improvement from BL2. Even with how absolutely goated of a game BL2 is.

Longtime Borderlands fan. After trying this game, hating it, trying it again after I forgot how much I hated it, hating it again, and repeating a couple of times, I finally realized that it's a pretty good shooter IF you skip all of the cutscenes, mute all of the voices, and ignore all of the cringeworthy story, at least until you get to the legit excellent wild west DLC. But I can't give it a thumbs-up if you have to do all that to enjoy it. It's a big step down from BL2 or the pre-sequel, and it will make you hate the world and characters you used to love. And Lilith's an idiot now.

While the gun-play is phenomenal, this game's writing is genuinely the most mind-numbing suicide-inducing piece of ass I've ever had the displeasure of being subjected to. Dipping my balls into hydrochloric acid while watching my entire family burn would actually be a more enjoyable experience.

I really enjoyed this when it came out, gunplay felt way better. But I recall the story being... quiet bad. I recently tried to replay this game and good christ the writing... I've read wattpad fanfics with better writing then this. it CONSTANTLY tells instead of showing, and the villains and allies alike become unbearable.

Borderlands 3 is a great game and I'm tired of people thinking it's not. Best game play in the series and tons of end game content, had about 100 hours on Epic before moving to Steam.

i hate that i can't give this game a negative recommendation because i genuinely think it's really great and an improvement over the others in many ways but a bunch of it is so crap it just pisses me off so much. don't come into this game expecting a good story. don't come into this game expecting a decent story. expect a story. the story of all time. that's what it is. a story that drags on for way too long. and ruins part of the mystique of a concept i genuinely found amazingly cool. okay, well, gameplay. the gameplay is a significant improvement with the new mobility options that you're given, something i had been wanting since i played borderlands 1, which was like... around a month before playing this, so, i'm not exactly a sage of the borderlands. but one thing i will say, i genuinely HATED!!!!! HATED!!!!!!!! HATED!!!!!!!!! how many legendaries this game dropped me!!! it was TOO MANY!!! i didn't LIKE IT!!!!!! i ended up ONLY USING LEGENDARIES!!!!! because i like being STRONG!!! but i was TOO STRONG!!! i felt PRESSURE. to USE. those LEGENDARIES. and what the HELL was up with this game's dlc, huh? vault cards, seasons, and all that, it was so confusing for me as a new player, and i couldn't really distinguish what was dlc and what wasn't!!! what a mess!!! but the story dlcs, they were great, maybe my standards had been lowered immensely by the calypsos mere existence, but i had a lot of fun with the dlcs! of course, more handsome jack content and i'm immediately engaged... too many psychos. just too many psychos. don't even talk to me about this game's final boss... or even main story bosses in general. just don't. i miss the sentinel. boring story, confusing non-story dlc content, but it's still a damn good game. TERRIBLE OPTIMISATION THOUGH!!!! IT TOOK AGES OF MESSING WITH THE SETTINGS TO GET A SEMI-COMFORTABLE FRAMERATE!!! AND I WAS WAITING FOR UP TO A MINUTE JUST TO LOAD SOME AREAS!!!!! IF I WANTED TO WAIT THAT LONG TO LOAD A GAME, I'D PLAY GENSHIN IMPACT ON A HARD DISK DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!! and what did they do to claptrap, man. i'm not insane right? they definitely upped claptrap's awfulness to an insane degree in this game, right??? i remember he was stupid a little shit but he had a good heart when it REALLY mattered, but in this game he just comes off as a total ass!!!! if i could just not consider this game canon, oh i so would... but, despite my grievances, it's still a good game i can't deny that. it's a lot of fun, especially when you don't have to think "oh shut UP tyreen" every few minutes GOD i hate her. 3/3.3 i would still die for tina

Gunplay is good. Gun Design Kinda Bad for some manufacture. Char Design is Good. Mayhem Level is a bad change. Dialogue is very very VERY bad. Ava is a profesional gaslighter, fucking bitch. and this review make me want to TALK to Lilith.

The gun-play is so great but the story is so bad I straight up forgot what the entire plot of this game was. I think my body did that autonomously as a survival mechanism. Nab it on sale for like $6 and just mute the character voices and you'll probably have fun. I seriously can't recommend it because the story was THAT BAD.
