This game has many problems but the biggest problem for me is the balance.
The combat is not very good, this however is made infinitely worse by throwing several enemies at you from the very beginning. You hardly start the game before you are faced with the games broken combat system. Instead of letting you grasp the combat piece by piece you are instead forced to duel with enemies having much larger health pool and damage then yourself.
It's the same problem with the ship and the naval combat. What should be a fun adventure with some carefully managed difficulty, is instead just a pure grind of unfun horrendous combat where the enemy has much more health and damage and has perfect aim. I can't emphasize just how unfair and unfun the ship combat is thanks to you having a useless vessel. Your first ship is unfit to fight even the worst enemy in the game.
The game gets better after you upgraded yourself and your ship by taking missions and doing treasure hunts on foot. (Any naval combat is basically impossible untill you gotten a better ship with upgrades) but by then I guess most poeple would have stopped playing this.
It's beyond stupid for a start of a game. Any travelling is by boat is filled with random battles where you are locked into impossible combat. You being weak is understandable but to make every fight on foot or on ship a several minutes life and death struggle is laughable bad.
