The game gives you some basic motivation to play it- some baddies arrived that are disrupting the peace of the world and our main heroine is sent out to stop them.
It would be fine if it were not for the technical issues. The Definitive Edition rarely launches for some reason. It'll just sit in the background and not do anything for minutes on-end. When you do get to play the actual game, items including 1-ups, health and etc. spawn in the ground. This Definitive Edition also comes with the Classic Edition which does not have this issue.
The game controls fine. The first boss had a random yet basic pattern to it. The game utilizes only the one and same stills as presented on the title screen for each character, with no variations for facial expressions nor poses depending on what a character is saying.
It would probably be a cool and fun game if it only functioned like it probably should.
