Classic arcade shmup game with some of the most gorgeous pixel art that I've seen from a 90's arcade game. This game is short and difficult, yet sweet, making it perfect for an arcade release. Blowing away countless soldiers with the heavy machine gun will always be satisfying!

Classic game and the pixel art is dead gorgeous even over 25 years later
don't be discouraged to buy, many of the port's problems have been fixed since launch
as for the audio yeah the game is old and the quality aint exactly crisp clear, set the volume to something like 1-2/10

Metal slug is a game that needs no introduction, a genre defining classic that took the best parts of contra and added a massive splash of personality and style.
A game which has stood the test of time, mainly thanks to the fantastic graphics and brilliant gameplay.
So to put it simply this a platforming game focused on dodging enemy projectiles, it's hard as balls as death comes quick but it's also deeply satisfying blowing away hordes of enemy soldiers.
Old but gold and often on sale, a pretty poor pc port but a fantastic game nonetheless.

Run, gun, explode, repeat! Simple, brutal, and ridiculously fun. The pixel art is gorgeous, the sound is iconic, and the gameplay is pure, unadulterated awesome. A perfect blast from the past.
