Not a bad game at all. Fun to play around with regardless of whether you are a Warhammer fan or not. The one, true, big issue with this game is that owning Battlefleet Gothic 2 completely nullifies the necessity to own this game. Number 2 does everything this game does but far better.

A very Frustrating mess of a game that i spent more time fumbling with the controls than trying to enjoy it. however i have heard the second game is far better in terms of controls and overall gameplay so check that out instead

Really enjoyed BFG 2 so i tried it's precursor...
Sadly it frustrated me to no end, I had to uninstall shortly after the start of chapter 2 because I was about to smash random things in the vicinity of my pc.
my problems with the game:
- clunky controls
- camera doesn't lets me zoom out enough
- horrible friendly AI
- campaign forces me to make a bunch of skill/upgrade choices i don't want at the start.
- fleet points seem broken... all except two of chapter 1 fights i had 300 points, even though the enemy fleet strength seemed to be growing fast, the 2nd to last battle of chapter 1 it suddenly jumped to 400 and the last one to 450. Then guess what? chapter 2 starts off with fleet size 300 again, against an enemy that seemed to field about 700+
- objectives are more often than not just annoying as hell, and yes there's a stark difference between annoying and challenging.
- one thing that some games do that really gets on my nerves is after the game has started and you're already giving orders and controlling things it takes away camera control from you to show you something stupid. STOP IT!
- mission intro's are unskippable. this might be okay for 1 time, but if you're struggling with a mission and you are retrying.... and you have to watch the same sh!t over and over again when you are already frustrated... it's like salting the wound.
- besides upgrading your fleet the campaign map doesn't offer any strategy whatsoever, there's always basicly just one choice in what to do next.
