Secret Agent is a simple, clean, polished, EGA action platformer. It can be enjoyed casually or with a more completionist/hardcore mindset if going for highscore. The overall flow is solid and it gives this DOS classic a pleasant, unique aesthetic & feel. With 48 levels, there's a good amount of gameplay to be had here as well.
Only a few of the levels have annoying gotcha mechanics in a way that will impede level completion on the first playthrough but a moderate number have tricky enemy placement that will cheese you out of a perfect run, denying the no-damage bonus on such levels until placement is memorized. Also, the game doesn't do downward verticality well due to there being no option to look up or down, so falling into the unknown can be a bit annoying at times. Thankfully, only a few levels do anything cheesy with that.
Overall, this is a solid game with good design and conveyance but only worth it if it's on sale. Also, the first 16 levels are legitimate shareware and can be freely downloaded from a variety of sites. That said, this is a DOS gem and an enjoyable classic so the full game is still a nice addition to one's library, nostalgia or not.

Having first played this back in the early 90's, this was a good game for the time that I actually never finished so for nostalgia purposes, this was a sure buy on sale and I thoroughly enjoyed it just like I did 30 years ago.
For a simple puzzle game with many levels across 3 missions, you certainly get your money's worth.
And also having now completed the game, I can proudly say I finally finished and it only took me 3 decades.

When I was a kid my uncle showed up many games he downloaded such as Wolfenstein, Monster Bash, Crystal Caves, even Quake while at it. This is the only game I have not played before so technically this seems new to me. So this game is like Crystal Caves except I like this one much better. I might give this game at least 7.5/10 due to because it has wonderful feel of controls and I can do this like no problem. Ups and Downs maybe but I still like this one more. I have beaten the 1st Episode, so the other 2 will be beaten on my hands at this rate.
What do you guys about this game? Do you like it or not depends on your taste?

Nostalgia! One of the first games I ever got to play as a little one. Of course back then this game was amazing, ground-breaking, and nothing quite like it. In 2023 it might feel a bit "bare" for platformer standards, as it doesn't have any of the flashy graphics or abilities we're used to our protagonists possessing nowadays. It's just shoot, jump, and timing, and that's really about it. But there's something about this game, it's not just the nostalgia hits, but also the environments in the game (especially the outdoor ones) that just bring a cozy and happy feeling with every mission that gets you closer to stopping Dr. No Body. It's just a simple, fun game that lays out its entire gameplay loop in the very first stage. If you're looking for trip down memory lane or a platformer that doesn't require too much thought or reflex, you'd be hard-pressed to find many that's better than this gem.

Nice, straight-forward platformer from the 90s. You have to find various items and destroy satellite dishes to finish the levels. It took me a while to play through all the 3 episodes and I had lots of fun with the game. Some of the enemies are a bit boring though. Never played this game back in the days, so there is no nostalgia clouding my mind. If you like the old Duke Nukem games you will have fun with this!

This game is awesome. Its mechanics are like Super Mario Bros, but you can shoot a gun, and have to get different color keys to unlock different color doors, making it more puzzle solving than Mario ever was. Great game, brings back fond memories from childhood!!!

It's a great game, but the developer released a remastered version here on Steam that I think adds more value. Get that one instead.

For those who love nostalgia of the DOS and Windows 95 era game. Apogee, now 3D Realms, released a series of side scrolling platformers. This and Crystal Caves. This game when I was a lad of 10 would play this with my brother. We would take turns on each of the bases and destroy evil. This game is a platform puzzle, not mind boggling difficult puzzles, just stuff like collecting items in a certain order. I am running this on Windows 10 without problem, and my brother also purchased the game, and he is running it on Windows 8.1. Buy this game. This is all I can say.

Oh boy, the feels. Don't let my play count fool you, I played this on end when I was young. Brings back the memories of taking apart and building computers when I was just learning to ride a bike.
Controls are still soft and the enemies dumb, just the way I liked them. Great game to dip in and out of when you want to remember a simpler time.
Works great on Windows 10.
