I purchased this game years ago at a discount but never played it. Felt like finally giving it a chance,,,, and I can't. Game won't start on windows 11. Not interested in spending the time to troubleshoot. If I install the game and it won't start, that's a major flaw that needs to be addressed by the publisher, not me.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a refreshing take on the Tomb Raider franchise, offering a straightforward yet engaging adventure where Lara must stop the evil god Xototl from wreaking havoc. While the story is basic and the dialogue can be cringeworthy, the game excels in its stunning visuals and engaging mechanics. Players navigate beautifully detailed environments, enjoying hack-and-slash gameplay reminiscent of classic titles like Diablo. Combat is enjoyable, requiring players to aim, dodge, and make quick decisions, while a variety of weapons and upgrades enhance the experience. The game also features platforming and puzzle-solving elements that stay true to the Tomb Raider legacy, with clever puzzles that require teamwork between Lara and her partner, Totec. Players can explore levels for collectibles and complete optional objectives for rewards, adding replay value. The local co-op mode allows for unique interactions between Lara and Totec, though online play is not available at launch. Despite this limitation, the single-player experience remains enjoyable, with puzzles adapted for solo play. Overall, Guardian of Light is a fun adventure that successfully modernizes Lara Croft, combining action, exploration, and cooperative gameplay, making it a standout title in the series.

It becomes disgusting in the endgame playing solo on hard difficulty. The devs should have optimised it for solo play also not just co-op.

I thought Osiris was bad but omg this game is even more garbadge. More frustration, more buggs. Totec is useless as a character why is this guy in the game he adds nothing ti the game except giving you a spear..... Same issues as Osiris but 100x worse. Osiris I would recogmand on sale I would even want to recogmand this shit hole if it was free.

This game rules! It's really fun and fast and feels like an arcade game. I hope to discover that there are others like it!

The perfect game for the Steam Deck - don't believe the "Unsupported" tag, it works perfectly fine.

Another game I've had in my collection for years and never touched. Decided to try it and found a real gem of a game! I love twin stick shooters and this is a kind of puzzle, twin stick shooter, platformer hybrid done really well. The checkpoint design is also of special note, they never seem unfair and are well designed so as to keep you playing with a 'one more go' addictive quality. Finding older gems like this is great. I'd certainly recommend giving this a chance. On to the next game in the series now!
