a very honest game that doesn't try to hinder you with stupid puzzles or levels, it's very straight forward and never really hides its hand. the action is good, the game handles well, and i still think it looks fine 15 years later. i booted it up expecting a bad game, but it's a fun time, and you can play co-op if you so desire. all in all, a decent time!!

Great game - a really fun local co-op experience, but I have to thumbs down because it is very likely to not work if you have a modern PC. The forum is full of threads about it not starting up - with many successes and many more failures. My 10750h + 2070 laptop runs it no questions, while hours spent trying every tweak on the forums hasn't gotten it working on my 11700k + 4070 Super desktop. edit: I got it working after 90 minutes of trying every anecdote and instruction under the sun in every order i could think of. Make sure you check if you can boot it within the refund period.

Tomb Raider: Guardian of Light is a true classic that never gets old even in 2025. My wife and I find ourselves coming back to it every few years, and it’s always as enjoyable as the first time. The game brilliantly combines the thrill of Lara Croft’s adventurous spirit with cooperative gameplay that keeps us both engaged from start to finish. One of the standout aspects is the seamless compatibility with Xbox One joysticks. The controls feel incredibly smooth and intuitive, making it easy to jump into the action without any hassle. The game’s puzzles, combat, and exploration are perfectly balanced, offering a mix of challenge and fun that keeps us hooked every time. We genuinely hope the developers create more games like this in the future. TRGOL is a rare gem that stands the test of time, and it’s a go-to for quality co-op gaming in our household.

So uh, if you're thinking this might be a good cheap co-op game to get on sale for you and a friend, just be aware that there's a good chance it won't even run on modern systems. And there's seemingly no consistent solution.
