(From an experience of a host of remote-play) It's alright. It's fun to strategize with friends. _____________________________________ But playing this game alone? Nah. The in-game explanation is unclear, the progression balance is questionable, and the game becomes too repetitive at some point because there are more levels than the variety of character pool, especially later in the game when enemies' defensive stats are so inflated and pushed the player to relies on same 'ol. _____________________________________ Funny writing, full of Easter eggs and references tho, I can enjoy those.

Game has not worked for a long time. It will start once if you reinstall, after that you just get a screen stating it is blocked due to your anti-virus. This is a fucking lie. With my nearly 20 years on Steam this is the only game I have every had this issue with.

as much as it saddens me to say this game has begun to fall apart, me and my brother love this game but due to age and neglect from the developer the workshop work around is having ALOT of big problems the main one is failure to download from his workshop even if the file successfully uploads. and as a enemy maker of our campaign its very frustrating to attempt to find whats breaking the enemy's download which is often a normal attack asset. so till fixed i would not recommend.

Great game to do some RPG runs with wackey characters and scenarios. Although if you hate puns, you'll hate this. Creating your own characters and abilities is a bit complex with all the states and actions and reactions you have available but there are a bunch of characters available on the workshop (in-game workshop, not steam workshop). I do worry what will happen if their servers ever shut down though, would be a shame to lose that functionality. It can have some bad scaling; I believe it scales encounters based on charm power (meta progression thing that buffs your party) so if you get some bad initiative rolls you can sometimes lose a character or your whole party on the first turn. If you get some good rolls, you can sometimes wipe out the encounter on the first turn though. I really like how it recommends cards to use and targets (although don't just blindly double click on them, depending on the card/whats around, it may select a party member to attack), and if I'm not feeling a party, I can just set all the characters to AI controll and basically play it as an auto-battler. Just got re-into this and have been playing a lot the past month and really liking it just to load it up and do a quick mission/story when I need to unwind.
