This is a great remaster improving on every aspect of the original.
I have watched a streamer play this a few days ago and sadly there are know bugs in this that haven't been fixed for years. For this streamer it meant doing one hour of gameplay again.

The solutions are a bit too wild in this one, but the humour is good.

Lucas Arts did have the best of them and they knew how to remaster them. Point and click games are fairly niche, but this one is a good one. Sometimes I got tired of the puzzles and wanted to move things along, so the hint system helped in those moments.

Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge is a point-and-click classic that’s as captivating in 2025 as it was in its heyday. Guybrush Threepwood’s bumbling quest for the treasure of Big Whoop is a masterclass in humor, charm, and clever puzzles. The vibrant world of Scabb Island, with its swampy lairs and shady characters, pulls you in with every click. It’s a pirate adventure that’s equal parts ridiculous and brilliant, and it still holds up beautifully.
For me, this game is a nostalgic lifeline to my childhood. I can still picture myself hunched over our ancient PC, puzzling out the bone puzzle in Phatt Island’s jail—using that dog to snag the key with a femur was a triumph I’d replay in my head for days.
Those endless afternoons spent chuckling at grog-fueled antics and humming sea shanties are treasures of their own. Loading it up on Steam feels like flipping open a scrapbook of simpler times.
And then there’s Stan’s iconic line: “I’m selling these fine leather jackets.” Delivered with sleazy flair from a coffin-turned-storefront, it’s peak Monkey Island absurdity. That quote’s stuck with me since I was a kid, a testament to the game’s knack for blending the bizarre with the unforgettable. It’s a one-liner that still makes me smirk, decades later.
Most folks today won’t remember the old anti-piracy tools—like that paper code wheel you had to spin to match pirate faces and dates just to start the game. It was a quirky hassle, but cracking it felt like a rite of passage back then. The Steam version skips all that, letting you dive right in with modern polish—crisp graphics and voice acting that enhance the magic (though I’ll always love the original MIDI vibes). It’s a 9/10 must-play—a nostalgic delight for me and a wild ride for newcomers.
Still no monke secret
A more complete game than the first, way longer and the puzzles are harder, but definitely worth the playthrough.

Played this back when it released and many more times since then. The best of the series. Guybrush in his prime. Metallica's Black Album. 9.5/10
Best adventure game until 26 years later Thimbleweed Park dropped. The King is dead. Long live the King.
Play the original version, new high res art lost a lot of the old charme. Playing with speech turned all the way down, lets you enjoy the game how it was intended to be played. Just text and a lot of room to imagine the characters a certain way. Have yet to play a single remastered adventure game version (mayyybe Detective Hayseed: Cloning Madness but I played this for the first time recently so no memories attached) that didn't lose some of its charme along the way.
If you play this (original version) and Thimbleweed Park you can spare yourself the trouble of playing any other title in the genre. Ok, Monkey Island 1 is good too and Maniac Mansion has a special place in my heart being one of the first games I ever played and still being one of the best adventure games of all time for its sheer minimalistic charme.

You don't need many words to describe this Game. I have fond memories of that time! Geez... I had a 80486DX2 66 back then in the 90s lol. But I digress!
Monkey Island 2 Special Edition is a fantastic remaster of this classic! The updated visuals and sound breathe new life into this adventure, and it plays perfectly on the Steam Deck with the trackpads—smooth, intuitive, and a joy to experience on the go. This Point' n Click Adventure is a must-play!

Look! a three headed monkey!
Don't let the seven hours tag fool you. I've played this game on a non-steam version and re-purchased it here... Then speedran it, I guess?
Classic point and click adventure game with good sense of humour throughout.
If you like point and click and don't already know who Guybrush is he is one of the mainstays and this is the second game in the series.
