Great game, terrible port.

DO NOT BUY. I could not figure out why but no inputs weather from keyboard or my controller would work. could not get passed the title screen! no help found online either.

Entertaining After spending some hours with the PC version (I've around 100hrs on xbox) I'd like to mention the PROS and CONS (from a franchise fan perspective) PROS: Instantly I'm going to mention the Character creation. Even though is not super deep the fact that you have too many slots to save characters is just insane. Be creative and make tons of them. I got inspired by other videogames and even other things like action figures or books to recreate those characters Following the first point, i'd say the customization in general. You can create your very own kingdoms with your created characters which opens countless possibilities. DW8 mechanics and weapon variety. Self explanatory and the widest of all the games in the franchise with weapons/styles. I love me some whacky weapons and also the regular sword and what not. Replayability. I know, it gets repetitive, however, it is also replayable every now and then which will work perfectly as a pallete cleanser Overall content along with DLCs makes it a really good pack for fun. Its not a GOTY by any means but that doesnt means its bad CONS Lack of content in empire mode. A lot will agree that this entry missed very good opportunitites to improve the overall empires experience. I played DW7E as I read that its the best in the empires series along with SW4E both are very good solid empires entries and they couldve imported the formula from both games with all the variety of things that DW8 has to offer Bad port. It is true. I dont like at all that even though you connect a controller it wont replace the display with the buttons instead it keeps showing the keys lol not a deal breaker personally but it was such a basic thing that shouldnt even exist Maybe that its a bit outdated? Visually might not be the most appealing game you can tell and this might make people turn their eyes somewhere else If you're a fan of the franchise and you'd like to try this I strongly recommend it but just get it at a discounted price

Terrible controls simply down right disgusting felling to play on keyboard or controller. It was not given the love it had on console at all.

dw7 empires is better tho, but this game is worth playing too. definitely love how you can instantly conquer a kingdom by defeating the ruler of said kingdom

I played this game when I was younger and I still really enjoy it. Losing hours taking just "one more turn", but I do find button input isn't responsive all the time. As well I had some crashes, but turning off v-sync solved it. This game is really good but just something stops it short from being great but I can't put my finger on it. Oh character creation is also really nice.

Had to return the game. After several hours of troubleshooting, I was unable to make the game acknowledge any controllers(including Xbox) I have tried to play with. When it says "Partial Controller Support," I don't know to what extent it means partial because my experience was that there was no controller support. I'm not going to play a game designed for a game pad with a keyboard. If you're okay with that, go ahead and find out if the game's worth playing for yourself.
