Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Reviews

It’s not a multiplayer game anymore, it’s a museum. Still technically playable, in the same way that AOL Instant Messenger is technically downloadable. Cannot recommend in it's current life cycle.

Very lightweight on modern hardware. Easy to create servers and play, large international community still playing. Cheating isn't too rife (and is fairly hilarious and silly). It's not a competitive shooter. It's just death match fun in the Half-life world. Good to play with the kids. This will run on hardware 20 years old if necessary

i got hit by a fucking toilet by one of my friends and then i rage-quit. best game ever 10/10 you will have the best times with friends, very funny, buy this right now.

Such a great DM game. One of my all time favorites! Blast from the past. Takes me back to simpler time. PLAY IT!!!

Also includes a range of firearms from Half-Life 2 like the SMG, crossbow, shotgun, and pulse rifle. [h2]Maps[/h2] Half-Life 2: Deathmatch features 8 maps, several of which are based on existing Half-Life 2 maps with several differences, others being exclusive to the game. Maps are typically tight, vertical, and built around fast-paced encounters, with physics props scattered throughout. [h2]Visual Design & Sound Design[/h2] Same as Half-Life 2. [h2]Constructive Criticism[/h2] Limited number of maps and modes compared to contemporary multiplayer shooters. Lacks any modern systems for tracking stats. Has very few active players. [h2]The Verdict[/h2] I love Half-Life 2, but the multiplayer side never really hooked me. I played this multiplayer about 17 years ago on a different account, but never sank many hours into it. It’s a decent, if limited, multiplayer shooter - fun in bursts but lacking depth. That said, it’s definitely a step up from the original Half-Life Deathmatch. [h2]Rating: 6/10[/h2]

Good, but there are no official servers, so it might take some trial and error to find a good one. The one I played hasn't been online since the Half-Life 2 20th anniversary update, but it was really fun.

pretty fun and balanced gameplay and the comp scene is cool

it is a good action game ... deathmatch is real .... hide and wait .... and then they look for you to get revenge ... it's fun :D
