What makes this game good is all the nostalgia it brings from when I was playing this as a kid after school. I'm glad I've finally been able to beat it, I never could as a kid, it was way too hard back then.
This remake feels a bit easier, but is still as punishing as the og. It is still as hilarious as I remembered, Abe's voice and clumsiness, sligs control, many fun moments during my playtrough. For the older players, it lacks the dark and scary atmosphere it used to have, but the new colorful setting is still enjoyable.
For someone who never played the old one, it may be tough at first, especially during the beginning since the start of the game lacks essential controls display, but it's a very enjoyable and funny game, tough but manageable, made for today's standard.

While not a bad game, but original is so much better in control and atmosphere, that I cannot recommend this. Remake is a lot easier than the original, though, thanks to the quick save feature, but game still feels somewhat hollow and too bright.
