Accidentally dismantled the gun I spent hours upgrading. This made me realize the game is far too grindy to go and get back what I lost. Community is toxic as well.

Simplistic retro graphic shooter. Do objectives and get out while being bombarded by monsters. Needs some more maps and items to purchase. Will be a hit if it keeps being updated.

Really enjoying playing this with the boi's. The amount of zombies can quickly turn even routine missions into sweaty scraps for survival. Please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DEVS, add a jump button, or at the very least a mantle button. So many times we have died due to a 2 foot fall and then being trapped unable to step up slightly and the only way out is blocked by dozens of zombies. Until some more content is added the core gameplay loop can get pretty grindy pretty quickly, that being said for an early access title with a $6.99 price tag its a great game to load up with some friends and mow down hordes of zombies. Look forward to seeing where this one takes off.

C.A.S.T is a blend of games I’d say. It has the gameplay of Helldivers 2, style/textures of Lethal Company and soundtrack of Doom. This game was easily worth the 6 euro that I spent since the game was on sale, but I would definitely say that it’s worth purchasing at full price, which is about 7 euro as of early access, although the team mentioned they would probably increase the price a bit when the game exits early access. This game is a lot of fun and even better when playing with friends. Very recommended and I can’t wait to see the updates that the game will undergo.

It's actually fun, some mission modifiers are not to my liking, like the fire rain circle that follows you around and works underground for some reason. But overall it's fun, has some progression in weapon upgrading and a shop for new weapons/consumables. Also you have random passive skills that you can acquire.

Worth $7? Absolutely. This is an amazing little game! The art style resembles that of a PS1/2 3D game, but feels very fluid and modern to play. Game mechanics, while simple, are refined and feel natural. Music is fitting and gets you in the mood to slaughter some zombies and other vile creatures. The game design/missions structure is safe, but done well and even with the mission/map selection being limited at the moment due to it being an early access game, it still feels like there's a lot of replay-ability. I will say that I don't get bored after about an hour, but I do feel satisfied (if that makes sense?). 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay feels like you can accomplish quite a bit, but still have more to do for the next time you play. Co-op mode is also very fun. So far, I've only played co-op and it works very well and feels like that's how it's meant to be played. My only complaint is that the controller support is limited and this would seem like a really fun game to play on a Steamdeck or other handheld as it runs very well due to the low poly and limited graphics selections. To add to that, controllers do work well but there are no glyphs in-game to tell you what to press and they don't work well in the menus either. Overall, I LOVE this game. It is super creative and I really appreciate the dedication to the design choice. Too many smaller games try to go above and beyond even what major development companies try to do and they fall flat. This is one of those gems of a game where the devs know their limits and do something amazing with it. I'm excited to follow the dev cycle of this one and excited for what's to come with new maps and missions.

Take the game play loop from Helldivers, mix it with the aesthetic and humor of Strange Brigade, add in a dash of the Doom soundtrack, set it in the 1950s and release it on early PS2 and you'll get C.A.S.T. I've only played a couple rounds but i can't wait to get my friends on and go some more.
