( full review with screenshots: https://www.gaming-parrot.com/post/pair-horror-review-rocky-relationship ) Pair Horror is a collection of about 20 cooperative minigames that are very vaguely Halloween themed, which is pretty weird for a game that came out in July. I bought it because SAT-BOX's minigame collections are usually more worthwhile than their terrible sports games, but those collections are also typically based on Mario Party rather than being strictly cooperative. On top of that, this has a $12 list price against $10 for SAT-BOX's seasonal minigame collections ( Our Summer Sports, etc) and $5 for their Party Party Time games. Can this justify the extra cost? The good news is that it does have some solid minigames. These are a mix of minigames copied from other games and a handful that are more unique. I was especially a fan of one that had us racing through a winding track covered in monsters and another that tasked us with dealing with ghosts hiding in a room like in Luigi's Mansion. Many of them are less original, like a memory match puzzle or a spot-the-difference game, but they do at least usually have some small twist that keeps them from being an exact copy of what you've played before. I can say something positive about nearly every game in the collection. The bad news is twofold. First, the small number of bad games are quite bad. There's a Crash Bandicoot-style game that has you running at the camera while both holding a treasure chest, but obstacles come at you so quickly that it's basically impossible to react to them together in any meaningful way. Another launched with a broken timer that made it impossible to beat, and a few more are interesting ideas that are trivial to beat on your first try. -------- For more reviews, see my curator page
