I LOVE CLICKOLDING!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought this game per the suggestion of my husband and it's made me realize more than actual sex that i would love to cuck someone. Holy shit. I fucking love clickolding dude. It's exactly what it says on the tin and if you expect more then. well. be prepared to get disappointed. You click a clicker until it hits 10,000. The reviews calling it "cosmic horror" are takes i heavily disagree with. It's very easy to read the ending as quite literally *anything* other than "this is actually, physically happening to you by an otherworldly entity" and i think that take of it is dumb as shit.

The aesthetic was interesting but I found the clicking annoying within a few minutes. The weirdness wasn't enough to overcome my boredom.

my biggest praise is that the game did make me *incredibly* uncomfortable and make my skin crawl... but the issue is that feeling lasted for 1k clicks at most. the game drags on and on after that point, and the gameplay gets to be WORSE than "boring". move to another spot of the room? change the thermostat? look at a painting? yeah, good luck having fun doing those same 3 tasks for most of the game! i knew i'd just be playing cookie clicker but with incredibly unsettling sexual innuendos, but it sucks constantly being interrupted to do something that just feels like filler.
the tasks they have you do arent even introducing anything interesting about the clickold as a character. obviously theres probably a few exceptions (though i've already forgotten, kinda hard to remember when i was focusing on trying to just finish the game already), but most of them are just rehashing that hes unpredictable because he's... controlling? i don't even fully understand why theyre in the game. it wouldve worked if we had more moments like
when he shows you his gun for the first time
, because that built GREAT tension. that, or the runtime of the game couldve just been cut down to avoid putting those useless events in so frequently (though, i do acknowledge it's a short game already)
the dialogue from the clickold did a good job, in my opinion, in the cases where it wasnt just him telling you to stop clicking so you can do one of those same tasks again. hes genuinely creepy and he made me feel super uneasy each time. i liked that we didn't get much on his life outside of this hotel room, in fact - im unhappy with like half of the info we did get (that being his "backstory")
i was really into reading this as a metaphor about exploitation of sex workers, but the post-game scene/ending(?) ruined it. it isnt technically contradictory, and i could simply interpret the post-game scene as not being literally real, but it feels like the game pushed for that ending to be more significant than it shouldve been. the
4th wall break
felt too absurdly pretentious otherwise. the entire rest of the game felt grounded in reality, which is what i gave it credit for. even for
clickold's dialogue about the void and his dream
, it was fine. i initially just read that as him losing his mind, nothing more. but then, we get a post-credit scene that lets us ENTER and
speak with the man in his dream
? and for what? what point could it be making if you don't treat those events literally? maybe it could've been developed better, but i think there was no need for the added "lore" and it should've just been left out.
i genuinely like "artsy" type of games, film, etc. - but, i just cannot recommend this game to anyone. not even people who have similar tastes. i get what it's going for, and there are parts of the game that WORK, but it just... falls flat. the gameplay is more boring than just seeing a black screen showing how many times you've clicked, and the story or any artistic value simply does not hold it up enough. the premise was extremely interesting, but its a shame that any potential was thrown in the garbage within the first 10% of the play time.

I can't say much without spoiling it, but I recommend it wholeheartedly if you like odd horror experiences. The price is worth the experience, even if it's short. (My 9 hours of playtime was me leaving the game up by mistake; the game is around 2 hours long at the highest if you're going for all achievements.)

I don't know what I was expecting of this. The premise sounded interesting, the game turned out to be pretty boring and story unimpactfull.
What the actual [strike]Cuck[/strike] Click
This game has an air of Absurdism to it. The Stranger by Albert Camus had me feeling the same way this game does. Though I had many more laughs with the implications this game was drawing. There's also the ending which wasn't Absurdist but definitely Absurd.
It's short enough and doesn't take itself too seriously that I say it's worth a play.

A truly immersive experience which made me feel... things. Appreciate the accessibility of being able to hold space to click. Would recommend to freaks.

An concise look at power dynamics involved in sex work/sex in general. It touches on themes ranging form the danger and unpredictability of being alone with a relative stranger to the pressure of acquiescing to the needs of a client/partner. That is my interpretation anyhow. The blend of goofiness and spookiness of the art helps keep the experience from being too unnerving.
Low time commitment.
Low cash commitment.
Awesome tone piece that is really sticking with me.
