short and fun, just like the first game. this one acts as a great lead in to its predecessor. i would definitely recommend playing that one first, though.

An evolution everything the first game did and a masterclass in economical horror, there are some really effective scares packed in here with only a handful of assets used. Play the first one, then play this one! They're both so dirt cheap that there's really no reason not to if you're into horror.

After playing The Exit 8, I had to give this one a try too. Unlike last time, I had no idea what to expect. Also, had to lower graphics to the floor once more (personal technological limitations). Guess what, I absolutely enjoyed it. Sounds and claustrophobic setting created the spooky atmosphere one would expect from this game which seems to be so basic when it comes to visual built. Definitely recommend.

A good (pre?) sequel to the previous game.
Despite having limited user actions, the game still does a good job in creating unique and interesting interactions by using its environment.
As others have noted, the main gameplay mechanic is slightly different in the sense that you don't have to only identify the anomaly but face and push through it. It is a good idea that mostly works out well, but I did feel that coming from one game to the other back to back hindered my perspective - I only understood the true nature of some anomalies at the end of the game.
Nonetheless, the game was eerie, casual and creative, which is exactly what I signed up for!

Platform 8 is... alright. It very much carries the same DNA as Exit 8, but is not quite as enjoyable or convincing. The gameplay loop this time around is about always moving forward, no matter what, meaning it is more about surviving anomalies rather than identifying them. Exit 8 played this brilliant game of "did I miss something?" and I would spend ages pouring over that corridor. Platform 8 is just about sprinting forwards toward the end and dodging any anomalies that come up.
Also, like Exit 8, Platform 8 would benefit greatly from more achievements for interacting WITH the anomalies. There are some fun interactions that you do not see as you are not MEANT to interact with them. Achievements would be a very easy way to encourage players to see the work you have already done and increase the play time. This seems like a home run for the developer and I cannot understand why it has not been implemented...
Without Exit 8's "carefully check every room" gameplay loop and in the absence of any interesting achievements to increase the playtime (beyond 'survive every anomaly'), Platform 8 is easily 100%-able in 30 mins. If you have not played Exit 8, I would absolutely go play that first. Platform 8 is still fun, but I can't really see myself revisiting it like I can Exit 8.

Platform 8 is more of an experience, whereas the last game is more like a puzzle. I found myself diligently searching each car before realizing that
things were more obvious than last game.

The whole "signs tell you what to do" thing was a little played out and I think the game would have benefited from letting players discover the methods of dealing with anomalies on their own. A lot of the fun of the last game was putting the player into a *mostly* unexplained environment and letting them to figure it out.
Very fun, and definitely worth the price, i'd easily pay more. I hope to see another, hopefully longer, sequel.

In Platform 8 you explore a series of train cars, one stranger than the other. Unlike its predecessor, Exit 8, this one isn't just about spotting the difference (although there’s some of that in here too). Instead, you’re mostly asked to just sit in it, as the game conjures up horror and weirdness along the commute that might or might not kill you.
Once again though, your objective feels secondary. The fun part is to experience all the anomalies and creative ways the developer manages to contort a familiar space again and again. There’s a comedic edge to everything here, and it usually ends up more unsettling than it does outright scary.
It still works too. And it plays differently enough to stand out as a great companion piece to the previous game. Even with some lore implications thrown in for good measure.
Recommended if you liked the first one, or if you’re after a short, weird horror experience.

Platform 8 by KOTAKE CREATE achieves taking a simple concept or idea and making something unique, creepy, and enjoyable out of it.
The mechanics of the game are less intuitive compared to The Exit 8, despite the sign at the beginning of the game.
The core components of gameplay involves memorizing in details the in-game location as you first pass through it, and be on the lookout for any anomalies on your subsequent passthroughs. This time however, most anomalies need to be solved before progressing to the next section, sometimes simply by finding them, other times through some challenge of reflexion.
Unfortunately, some anomalies are simply for visual effect and psychological horror, and cannot be solved, making it somewhat unclear whether the player is supposed to do something or simply press onwards.
The game varies in difficulty depending on which anomalies you get and how they need to be solved, and therefore can either become moderately complex or time consuming to finish just as it can be completed on the first try.
The achievement of finding all anomalies further enhances and extends the gameplay experience by adding replayability, and the clever system in place ensures that you get the chance to see all anomalies at least once before they can repeat.
The visual aesthetics of the game are clean, polished, and of good quality.
Platform 8 is overall a good quality, slightly challenging, and enjoyable psychological horror puzzle game from KOTAKE CREATE, and despite being less successful than its predecessor The Exit 8 by KOTAKE CREATE, still constitutes a good iteration of the look out for anomaly genre of games.

Very different from Exit 8 and I did not enjoy it very much. You can no longer turn back and must now confront the anomalies. However, for most of the anomalies it tells you exactly what to do. Even during "spot the difference" anomalies, it just tells you that there is a difference and waits patiently for you to find it because you cannot turn back. For me this is boring and completely defeats the point. Disappointing.

Scarier but not as fun as Exit 8, [PLAY EXIT 8 FIRST PLEASE] This is a sequel to that game as well. although this game is absolutely beautiful, even better then the last I think i wouldve prefered a simple not complex filter over it just to add to the vibe but i love these graphis.
for Exit 8s its main strength was its creativity and puzzle focused gameplay. It relied almost entirely on psych horror to be terrifying (Im a wuss so i found it scary). This mixed with the need to be incredibly observant and make decisions every sequence, made it a very fun and interesting puzzle game, and horror game.
Platform 8 takes away your need to be observant its more of a rail roaded adventure (Pun intended) you dont need to search for anomolys unless the game tells you too, In fact the game tells you to pretty much do everything you need to do, and blocks off your other decisions so you cant make a mistake. It feel like your watching yourself play the game more than playing it.
Its still cool and unique and i await the next game from the creator(s?) They tried something a bit different and i dont think it worked out, however for the price its still defenitly worth it, and i hope they take what they learned from this project and add it to the next, as they do some really cool ideas here.
