This game is incredibly easy to understand, yet a little bit challenging.
compare to the price, really enjoyable.
but now i think i should change my clothes, cause it's too damn wet!
8.5 / 10 worth a try!

Literally depicts Songkran festival in Thailand, girls, water guns, powder on your face. Gameplay mechanic is quite interesting you have to manage water gauge which is both your ammo and HP while you can't run out of water and can't have your gauge full in the same time.

This game has simple graphic but fun to interact with Songkran theme. The story is easy to understand and the dying animation is funny.
The game mechanic is creative. The level design is good. Just need to balance the damage and modify each gun to be more unique.
In conclusion, this game is great to play and winnable, but need to polish a bit to make it more fun.

After playing nearly an hour of Water Festa (despite what Steam says), I have to wonder why this is a paid game. The quality is on par with a free web-based game. So much about it is achingly amateurish, from the art to the programming to the game design.
Water Festa is a wave-based twin stick shooter, where you proceed down a corridor divided into arenas filled with enemies. Water Festa differentiates itself by using a wet/dry mechanic, where certain attacks empty or fill a “wetness” meter. Reloading one of three guns also empties the meter, so you have to allow yourself to get hit on purpose to keep the meter filled. Maxing out the meter in either direction causes you to lose, so the player is required to constantly decide whether to dodge certain attacks, or allow them to land. In my experience, this made for some pretty confusing gameplay, as I wasn’t sure if I should dodge as usual, or run headfirst into an enemy. The fact that the wet and dry projectiles looked pretty similar, with little color difference, also made things more difficult.
The game quickly ramps up in difficulty, but instead of having harder encounters or more advanced enemies, the game mostly relies on “more enemies = hard.” At least the checkpoints are quite generous, with the game saving after each arena is cleared. Don’t expect upgrades to help you deal with the suddenly overwhelming assault of enemies, because the only form of progression is random stat boosts the enemies sometimes drop.
