Fun... tricky but not too comlicated... requires thinking and measuring your own resources.

Seems pretty bad. Got it in a large bundle but wouldn't have touched it otherwise. Doesn't really seem like the gameplay matches what the game promises.

Fun but very short. Does not line up with the caliber of other Sid Meier games and while I enjoyed playing it there are a magnitude of things that made me lose interest after the first play through. If you are a hardened Civ player like me and had hopes that this would be a build out of the final frontier mod for Civ 4, it is not.
All that said, I hope the dev make this a full feature game and add the complexity and features that make other Sid Meier games the gold standard for turn based fun. Great concept, needs more cowbell.

Very basic turn based strategy with many hours of fun perfecting your fleets attacks and universe domination.

Meh!
If a simple board game style play is what you are looking for its quite decent and worth it if you can get it on sale. I only recommend it for that.
HOWEVER, its definitely not a grand strategy 4x space game. For that you want Stellaris or Masters of Orion 3 imo.
I used to LOVE Firaxis games and Sid Meier and I still do. tbh I have played better games than this in the 90s and Huge life log fan of Civilization Colonization Pirates Alpha Centauri etc. This game is kinda lack luster for me. I don't like getting bogged down with micromanagement in games but this is a little too simple for my taste. Its like a budget Space 4x it feels like a board game, in fact that's exactly what it is: a board game disguised as a grand strategy Space 4x.
You select one of 8 civilizations, each with its own bonus (Economy, Research etc.)
You get one fleet. You can upgrade this fleet and add more ships to this fleet but that's it. You fly around the map and visit systems to gain influence. If there is combat it takes place on a hex map and its turn-based. each turn your ships can move and shoot lasers, torpedoes, launch fighters, stealth or scan.
The combat is too simple with out a variety of things to do and quickly becomes repetitive.
its almost like they had a concept for a good game pulled it out of a list quickly developed a shell and pushed it out.
Now, the game is complete and polished but just lacking and real depth.
