Solo developer shoot 'em up in something of a 194X style (WWII theme, planes in tri-formations, barrel rolls). There's good and bad to it, unfortunately some of the flaws are big ones. Like bullet visibility. It's just terrible on some levels or against certain enemies. Also for a game that very much wants to be a bullet hell, your ship is too twitchy. You need to be able to dance between those bullets, not jerk back and forth. To finish out the bigger flaws, the game needs a zippier pace. Watching a drab conversation on the screen for 60 seconds at a time, or the level over bonus screen taking forever -- we need to be able to fast forward these.
But like I said, there's good too. The graphics are clean and bright with three different scanline options (I love grid scanlines!), there's a cool heavy metal soundtrack (though we need volume control on that), and the sound effects are nice and explodey. Thankfully there are leaderboards and there's also a neat between-levels upgrade system.
A pretty good effort, but alas some of those flaws are biggies. Worth the $5 it goes on sale for if you're a STG nut. 6.5/10
