Elsewhere, they say, parts of the world have been rendered an inhospitable desert, the earth parched and cracked. People live in the zones now.

Sadly, and I cannot believe that these games get onto the store, but the game is just a bit broken.
Saves do not always save, and there is no way to bypass the intro screens later on.
Developer has not responded to issues for years, not worth the trouble.
A pity, because the game does work, story is interesting ,but it's abandoned and janky.
