I can't say I reccomend this game. It is not worth its money and I am glad that I bought it on sale. I can't belive I have been wanting this game for 4 years.
It IS good if you want to play as a lynx and just want more animal games, but beside it? Sure, the graphycs are cute, the little ones are meowing, the music is not that bad, it even jumpscared me two times with the eagle... but the rest of it is.
First of all, the game is terribly short. I bet if you hunt a few big preys instead of little you will finish the game in 30 minutes. The game does NOT tell you what to do. Yeah, you have some quotes, but at first I thought I was missing something and couldn't understand what to do, but it turns out that I had just to run around the map and hunt. Sometimes even those quotes dissapear faster than you can read them. Also not to mention that the translation to other languages is probably made by google translate. Also there aren't much tutorials.
You can't do anything with your lynx except hunt. You can't sit, you can't interact with the kitties other than feeding and picking them up, perhaps calling them. You can't even crouch and the games decides itself when you will and will not crouch.
The vision, however it was called, works bad. Yes, it shows you the transitions between the maps, yet it works bad with prey. It barely shows it even when it is near and you have to guess yourself where is prety and where not. And I still don't know do I kill that prey simply by approaching it or do I need to cklick LMB. Not to mention how annoying it is once you chase a herd of elks/deers, once you caugh one the other dissapear in the air. So you kinda can't just hunt down the whole herd but need to look for another to spawn somewhere.
The camera is terrible, you can move it left and right, but up and down is much harder, especially down. Also you can't zoom in or out, the game decides itself when it will zoom and when won't. Actually, the camera problems makes it harder to play. You actually need to ajust to this game so to play it more smoothly.
And when you accidentally get into the water you immediatelly drown and have to wait while the grey screen goes away and then it teleports you back. But when you bug into a wall, even accidentaly while hunting, you fall out of the map and I had to restart the game.
You don't see when your kitties are hungry. I mean, they always are hungry, but when they need food ASAP, because one of my kittens collapsed/fainted out of hunger and then it kept laying there (alive) but I couldn't feed it. Even if it IS possible to feed them in this state, no one told me how?? Not to mention that one of my grown cubs even got lost somewhere.
Also some stages are getting skipped?? When my kittens grew up (haven't left me yet) there was a moment when the wolves chased me and we had to jump on a "hill" so to hide from them, but on my second turn there weren't any wolves and I had to wander in panic expecting them and searching for that "hill" again because there weren't in that land any and I thought I will need it again.
And I find it weird that I can't climb any higher sufaces beside some small rocks while when the wolves chase I can, but I can let it slide ig.
It also annoys me how there is no mini map, but the problem is not in it but in the fact that when you open the actual map you don't see witch side do you face so it is easy to get lost when you search for a specific item and it makes it harder to find.
There is NO save button so you always have to wait the game to autosave you on random itself or else if you leave the game you will lose your "unsaved progress".
Also weird that the achivements come when you close the game, you don't really know did you make it or no durign the game itself. And I wish I could skip the titles but ok ig.
Perhaps I also wish I could continue the bloodline by more than just one cub cuz of the different coat variations, but I understand that the game just makes you play it again and again.

I have loved this game for a long time. It's a short play but very beautiful. Not all that complicated gameplay-wise, but I don't think it needs to be. I would recommend this to anyone, especially those who love nature. It has a beautiful art style and is capable of being deeply emotional like all of the Shelter games. This one has always been a favorite of mine though, it holds lots of nostalgia.
