Is Loren even Loren without the N'Mar expansion? Trust me, get it. There's so much depth it adds to the game, plus extra characters to battle with! The quests also are totally worth exploring and, well, without spoilers, trust me, it makes the ending of the game that much better! If you need more convincing: vampires. It adds vampires to the game. And a really fluffy hell dog.

(Another backlog review.) This expansion is hard to tell whether or not I recommend it, in some senses, since I didn't play without it, and it adds a bunch of content throughout the game, so it's hard to tell what outside of the titular Castle of N'Mar is actually expansion content. The only gripe is basically the one I stated about the base game - sure, it adds four new characters in Mesphit, Sauzer, Chambara, and Trouble, but you might notice none of them were in my "absolutely required party members" list, with all of them having clear drawbacks. That said, I'm going to just go out on a limb and say it's recommended that you pick up the deluxe version when you buy Loren so you get this, too, since another way of saying I couldn't tell what content was expansion content is saying that nothing felt out of place.

Very good addition to the main game, basically adds in a new location with its own quest chain, makes it possible to recruit 4 new characters and throws in a bit of extra dialogue here and there as appropriate. Oh and an alternative path/resolution of the main story! Might be other things i missed but it's safe to say if you enjoyed Loren you can't go wrong with this.
