Shovel Knight Treasure Trove is a wonderful, retro-inspired, sidescrolling platformer that oozes charm. They somehow nailed it. The movement feels good, the music is catchy, and the value is there. Several games in one. DEFINITELY recommend if you enjoy SNES/NES style platformers.

This game is the epitome of a modern 2D pixel-plattformer. The amount of content is absolutely insane, the artstyle is vibrant and colorful, the story is simple yet very good and the gameplay is hard but fair. There are 4 playable characters, each offering a very unique gameplay experience. There's exploration that leads to upgrading your character, each upgrade offering a fun twist on the gameplay instead of just being a straight-up power-up. And there's even a fairly decent card game and a multiplayer fighting game, all in one package. A definite modern classic.

If you're a fan of the platforming genre, especially the classics, then Shovel Knight delivers a timeless classic. I've replayed it several times since it came out and it always feels fresh every run. Specter Knights campaign is goated tbh, even more fun than the main story, just wish it was a bit longer. The other DLC's aren't bad but the bread and butter is Shovel Knight and Specter Knights story.

Played a lot of the original a decade ago on 3DS, and it's as good as I remember. Having all versions of the game in one package is also a great bonus.

My number one enemy in this game was gravity. The number of times I died because I fell in a hole is astounding. Aside from my inability to platform, this was a really well made game that was fun throughout my entire journey. The characters had real personality, the character designs were simple yet so well done, and the level design was top notch. Additionally, the quirks that were apart of each area were great, be it the lightning in a dark level as your only light source or the water level mechanics, every level really felt like a totally different area that I had to adjust to before finally conquering it. Overall this was a super fun game to just kick back and run through in a handful of hours and just achievement hunt. I would definitely recommend it!

Played this before on console, I can still recommend it, if you are looking for a good 2D Platformer, that can be challenging, but doable, so yeah enjoy playing the full experience or buy the single games.

This is genuinely one of the best platformers of all time imo and my personal favorite of the genre. Every character is unique and they all have cool tech they can pull off that feels great; you can basically play pretty much any character with a nonstop momentum and as a result every character is also super fun to try and speedrun if you're into that kind of thing. Plague Knight is easily my favorite of the playable cast because if you can learn how to chain together your bomb jumps you can just fly through the level super fluidly and quickly and it's insanely satisfying to do right, but the bomb jumps tend to be a little chaotic so you really have to get a feel for them before you get to that point. Difficulty can spike here and there, but you can die infinite times so if you can't beat the game it says more about you than the difficulty imo The music is pretty fire too, you'll be bobbing your head or humming along pretty much the entire time. Would 100% recommend on a sale, but if you like platformers or even retro style games and haven't played this one yet it's definitely worth full price if you're even slightly interested.

I feel like this game has been somewhat forgotten about when compared to other games in the "upper echelon" of indie games like Binding of Isaac, Pizza Tower, Cuphead, Terraria, etc. It's a real shame because it's still amazing and has so much great content. Don't let it pass you by.
