This game had the potential to really be something special. A charming art style, great levelling system and an interesting upgrade system where you can upgrade whenever/whatever you want during a run as long as you have the coins.
Unfortunately it's a game where the dev excuses any game flaws with odd explanations.
For example, there are certain weapons that only attack in the direction the player is moving, but the enemies move too fast and the attack speed too slow to make it viable to face in their direction. Most melee attacks only face left or right, meaning you can't rely on them to help with enemies above or below you. The dev explains this away by maintaining that the game needs to be "difficult". If frustrating or useless is a synonym for difficult here, they certainly succeeded.
The permanent character upgrades use shards which are earned by playing and levelling up/collecting coins during a run. Unfortunately, each character needs to be upgraded separately (that's right) and the EXP bar fills so slowly after 4 or 5 levels that you'll wonder how you're even going to upgrade one character.
I've seen quite a few of these games that have great potential be stunted and eventually left to collect dust because the developer takes feedback personally, rather than working to create something that overcomes its flaws. The funny thing is, this is the developer's first game, so you think they'd be open to feedback. Nope.

This is a great game for its price-point! Range of characters, weapons, some lore as well. The keyboard controls are also customisable which helps a lot!

Absolutely loving this game right now.
Found it on a FB Steam Group and thought i'd give the game a chance. The gameplay is super refreshing and has alot of heart pounding moments especially when ur character gets lowered to 1hp. Reminds me of old cod zombies games when ur red screening and desperately trying not to get sandwiched in a corner. And the lore of this game is SUPER RICH, im loving the whole setup of the game with the Gods and sponsorships and what not.
While I do have certain gripes with the menu, the gameplay more than makes up for it and all the playable characters are super diverse and offer up different gameplay experiences. From what looks like a first time developer this game is so freakin fantastic and addictive. I'd highly recommend this game to fans of action roguelikes. Giving it a solid thumbs up!
