Quick Review
The Novelist. In this game you play as some kind of ghost or spirit that observes the 3 member family that moves into a summer home. You investigate the thoughts of the family and objects around to determine their desires and at the end of the day, you influence Dan on what desire to prioritize. This can lead to varying outcomes and differing endings from what I've seen.
The visual/graphic style is... okay. It's not much to look at and serves its purpose. You're in the house for all of the game. There's quite a bit of text to read and it's rather small.
Audio is... not that good. The music was dull and the game has this high-pitched noise for the objects/thoughts of interest that was so bothersome that I had to turn the sound FX off. The voiceovers were all right, however.
Honestly, I thought the game was rather boring to play and while it does offer multiple outcomes and potential replayability, I felt no desire to do so and couldn't connect with the characters.
I wouldn't recommend it to but most diehard indie game players.
