https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwpU--JUszA
ːISSmaskː I am already in love with Verdun ːISSmaskː
I am a huge fan of games set in history, but it is an extra bonus if the gameplay feels realistic and the weapons and reloading realistic as well. Verdun is a game that is very different from Battlefield 1, the weapons are not even nearly as fast and neither is the reloading. Some of the weapons too you have to empty your entire magazine to reload, which I also like since I can't really remember a game set in WW1 where you actively had to consider when to step back and reload safely. Battlefield 1 is a fantastic game set in WW1 but it is a bit more arcady in comparison. Verdun offers much slower battles and the weapons you will be using are mostly bolt-action. There are SMGs and machine guns but what I like about the machine guns in comparison to Battlefield 1 is you cannot use them unless you lay down on the ground, that is a very cool thing Verdun does that I can't find elsewhere when it comes to how you use machine guns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWp-7XH3080
ːColt1911ː Verdun has 9 maps and they feel really great to play ːColt1911ː
Pure hell on earth :) WW1 had some of the most brutal battles ever with Verdun and Passchendaele being the most iconic I remember from history class. Learning about the battles of WW1 makes you hate mud, and it makes you hate gas. I am a really big fan of the game plays and the maps can also be played in different gamemodes. There are 3 different types of gamemodes for Verdun but I mostly enjoy frontline since you have to defend, attack and push against enemy attacks and defenses. The war to end all wars is not explored much in gaming, so I am glad to have games that can explore this not so explored period of World War history. I haven't played Isonzo yet but it is made the same team who made Tannenberg and Verdun, and since I enjoyed Tannenberg and currently enjoy playing Verdun, I am looking forward to try out Isonzo as well. https://store.steampowered.com/app/242860/Verdun/

Its a good game. very arcade like. You die a lot and kill a lot that's just how it goes. If that is for you, check it out. We need more players on this game. The few players are very loyal. The more players the better.

The fields of Verdun are not merely battlefields; they are a crucible in which the souls of men are tested by fire, steel, and unrelenting horror. Here, there is no respite, no refuge—only the ceaseless wail of artillery and the cries of the fallen, their bodies swallowed by mud and smoke. War, in all its merciless cruelty, is laid bare before us. And yet, though the enemy be countless, though they hurl forth storms of lead to break our spirits, we shall not falter. We fight not for conquest nor for the petty ambitions of kings, but for the man beside us, for the unyielding bond of comradeship that can only be forged in the very mouth of Hell itself. With rifle in hand and bayonet fixed, we charge forth, for though the cost be terrible, surrender is an evil far greater. Do not mistake this game for mere amusement. Verdun is a grim and unflinching depiction of war—a war in which men are thrown into the maelstrom, where valor is often rewarded with nothing but an unmarked grave. Yet it is in such hardship that the mettle of true warriors is revealed. Coordination, discipline, and courage shall carry the day, while the weak and the cowardly shall find naught but oblivion. I recommend Verdun to any man who wishes to understand the depths of struggle and sacrifice. It is not an easy game, nor should it be. But in its mud-soaked trenches, amidst the thunder of guns, one may find a deeper understanding of duty, of perseverance, and of the terrible price of war. 10/10 – Would charge into No Man’s Land again, aaand again, and again, and again.
