If you wanted more castle destroying missions, skip this DLC. 98% of it is just hero based, or protection kind of missions.

To echo other reviewers: buy it on sale, or buy the complete edition that includes both DLCs.
From Outcast to Savior is a decent DLC. Another review negatively reviewed the DLC because of the 5-star requirement for one of the levels. This pack contains level that is very difficult to completely 5-star, and took myself many attempts to get it correctly. I don't think it's worth negatively reviewing over just that level.
A big positive for this DLC that makes it arguably a great pack is for a specific level midway through this campaign that works great for farming gold. Since gold is usable outside the campaign it was collected in, it's a great asset to finishing up other levels from the main campaign, From Outcast to Savior DLC's campaign or The Warrior Queen DLC's campaign. (There is a guide in the CastleStorm community with more info about that.)
Achievement hunters will need to get this DLC to get 3(?) achievements specific to this campaign

Underrated indie game with good dlc that expands the game time with a good chunk of story

This is a shorter campaign (3.1hrs for me) telling the story of the son of the hero in the main game campaign.
I found this DLC not quite as good as the main game, mainly because this had more of the 'brawler' levels which I don't care for as much. I enjoy the knocking down the castles and the sending forth of the troops to capture the flag. But this does introduce some new characters and missiles to the game and that's always good.
Overall: Probably better to pick up as part the bundle as this is certainly enjoyable, just a different balance of missions presented. 7 out of 10.
This DLC is lacking in the fun department. It's frustrating when you are unable to upgrade your hero for certain missions, and even when you do have upgrades available, they can make it impossible to achieve a five-star rating.

There is not much difference in the 2 dlc for this game. By that i mean, if you want to finish the storyline with boy thing, then pick this one. if you want to finish the story with girl thing, then pick the other. No joke, when you get to the second last boss, the boy/girl have an argument who gets to fight it and the last boss, if you pick this DLC, then you play through the second part of the story from the boy's stand point and you win the arguement against the girl at the end and you fight the last boss as the boy.
As for multiplayer, its dead, game had its heyday and is finished. So unless you are a completionist and are going for all acheiv's, then pick one or the other, but you still have to choose, do you wanna play as boy thing? then pick this dlc, if you wanna play as girl thing, then pick the other (but be warned, girl throw's axes, and on the second last boss fight, if the axe handle hits the part you need to hit (which is often), then it wont do dmg, unlike boy who uses bow and arrow)

DLC verdict: Get it on sale OR Get it in the bundle with the base game
Comment:
The story from the base game continues in this (shorter) campaign where you play as the son of the hero from the main campaign. The difficulty is wobbly, some levels on Hard are a piece of cake ... some make you question the phallic qualities of the level creator. Either way if you like to see how the story unfolds and/or want to play more campaign levels then this is for you. But get it on a sale or in a bundle with the base game.

The 5 star requirement of the very first level is absolutely sadistic--it requires you to kill all 34 of the enemies on the level in a single kill streak. I cannot in good conscience give a thumbs up to content which is intentionally designed to waste hours upon hours of my time by making me repeat the same damn thing over and over again.

Mediocre DLC, as always seems to be the case.
If you are expecting more castles to destroy you will be as disappointed as I was.
For some reason the developers focussed on everything other than castle destruction, many of the levels being the tedious 2D scrolling combat and others where you just have to kill troops.
In one you actually lose the bonus for damaging the castle as you are trying to capture it.
Dull, dull, dull and even at 75% off I regret buying it.
And on top of that - the longest loading times of a game since tape recorders were in use.
I actually go away and do something while the levels load.
On a 6 month old PC.

What does this DLC give us? A new faction, with strong troops & garbage arsenal and a new campaign. Is this campaign good? Not really: it's heavily hero-focused, and as we know, heroes in this game are mehh... Well, if not every attack from every unit type stunned, it would be okey, but in a hero-centered scenario, where the spammable low-tier units can stunnlock you, it isn't a fun experience. Don't get me wrong though: it is absolutely doable. Just not fun. I can't really recommend it: buy it, if you are after the achievements, otherwise get the base game only.
