Call me what you will but Far Cry has always had a special place in my heart. HOWEVER, I do despise the fact that outposts are practically non-existent (it made the game feel unique for me) so that's the only real gripe I have with this game

The game unnecessarily includes LGBTQ+ themes in an exaggerated and constant manner. Every few seconds, there’s a message or scene pushing LGBTQ+ rights — it feels excessive and out of place. On top of that, the game is filled with repetitive and disturbing scenes that serve no real purpose. It’s frustrating that the story tries to portray Dani as the only one capable of saving the resistance against Castillo, while ignoring logic and depth. You kill, steal, take over, and teach — you're literally the driving force behind the group’s strength. Ironically, it’s Diego, Castillo, and Dani who truly saved the game from completely falling apart. It's disappointing, Ubisoft.

Far Cry 6 – A Bloated, Hollow Shell of Its Former Self Far Cry 6 is the unfortunate culmination of Ubisoft’s tendency to prioritize quantity over quality, and spectacle over substance. What was once a franchise defined by its intense, emergent gameplay and compelling villain dynamics has now devolved into a soulless, open-world grindfest. Let’s start with the most glaring issue: the gameplay loop. It’s stale, repetitive, and uninspired. The map is stuffed with busywork—checkpoints to clear, propaganda to destroy, loot to gather—all of which feels more like a mobile game checklist than engaging content. Worse still, none of it is meaningful. Whether you’re liberating towns or hijacking supply trucks, it never feels like you're making an actual impact on the world around you. Then there's the story, which is perhaps the game’s biggest disappointment. Ubisoft tried to market Far Cry 6 around the presence of Giancarlo Esposito as dictator Antón Castillo, but his performance is completely underutilized. He shows up in brief, formulaic cutscenes and then vanishes for hours, leaving you with a limp resistance narrative that lacks tension, emotion, or coherence. The protagonist, Dani Rojas, is painfully generic, and the supporting cast feels like caricatures ripped from a failed Netflix drama. And don’t get started on the tone. The game tries to juggle a serious story about revolution and oppression with zany, over-the-top weapons and animal sidekicks (like a sausage dog in a wheelchair). It’s tonal whiplash at best, and a complete narrative train wreck at worst. Visually, Far Cry 6 looks acceptable but unimpressive. The environments, while large and colorful, are strangely lifeless. The AI is laughably bad—enemies will walk right past you, get stuck on terrain, or forget you exist the moment you duck into a bush. It’s hard to feel immersed when the world feels like it’s running on autopilot. The final nail in the coffin is the progression system. Gear and weapons are locked behind artificial scarcity, with RPG-lite mechanics that add unnecessary complexity without any real depth. It feels like Ubisoft designed the systems around microtransactions first, and player enjoyment second. In short: Far Cry 6 is a bloated, joyless slog that tries to do everything and ends up doing nothing well. It's a game that plays like a parody of open-world design—soulless, shallow, and endlessly padded. Unless you're a die-hard fan who enjoys ticking boxes on an oversized map, you're better off skipping this entry entirely. Final Score: 3/10 (Juan was funny)

I bought this game for this year’s summer sale 2025, was even considering buying it before then and was really excited to play it. Sadly I will have to refund this game because you cannot even play it. Ubisoft seems to be having issues with their server and their Ubisoft Connect but I am not willing to wait potentially days or maybe weeks (seems like it was going on for a while for other people) for the issue to be fixed. I highly recommend not buying this game and I would also suggest steam potentially blacklist/unlist it from their catalog as it seems to be a cash grab for a broken game and feels like the company is scamming people. I’m not the type of person to leave harsh reviews because I love to find the good in this but this is definitely deserving of it. Don’t get me wrong I love some of the games they have like watch dogs legion, far cry 5 and new dawn and the assassin’s creed line as I’ve owned them on PS4, but that is not enough for me. If you want to risk buying it I suggest checking to see if their servers are down first or ask around. Will I come back and check at some point? Idk but as it stands the server is broken and the company doesn’t seem to know why just constant bot responses. Literally the 1 hour of playtime I have on this game is literally just from actually trying to access it with no luck.

When people say modern Far Cry games lack the detail of their older counterparts, that doesn’t quite capture the real issue. Setting grass on fire, like in Far Cry 3, is visually cool but doesn’t have a significant impact on gameplay. What truly mattered was the weight those details gave to the world. With each new release, the series feels crushed like a singularity in the black hole of Far Cry. Left with a hyper-condensed, streamlined experience stripped of the messy but meaningful nuances that gave the older games their character. You no longer need to loot bodies; you just walk over them. Flip your car? No punishment, just get out and flip it back with a button press. Ladders magnetize you as if to prevent accidental falls, but instead, they remove player agency. Ubisoft finally heard the complaints about the dreaded yellow ledge... now it’s red. Wildlife poses seemingly zero threat. These conveniences may look like quality-of-life improvements on paper, but they subtly erase the feeling that you’re truly in the world, making meaningful choices with real consequences. Everything that made the game an experience like wonder and discovery is gone. Technically, it’s at least functional, which in today’s AAA sphere is sadly noteworthy. But from a gameplay perspective, it leaves so much to be desired. This game has no soul. Hard pass for me.

This is a very soulless and boring game. Which is a shame, farcry used to be really good. Even farcry 5 blows this out of the water. Something about this game is just off. Everything you do just leaves you thinking "well that could've been good if they just..." Also no 3rd person in vehicles is awful. Some of us don't want next to zero visibility and a screen that bounces the entire time.

Look, this game looks visually amazing, and it plays (mostly) fine. The story is whatever, Giancarlo carries it, of course. I don't like where this series is going after New Dawn; it feels like it's going for a more arcade-ish approach to the survival and it feels less "immersive" than the older titles. But that would not be enough for a negative review on its own. However, it blows my mind how a bloody triple A game with a budget of millions of dollars does not implement basic SAVING mechanics, like holy crap! Instead they just implement some unreliable autosave that doesn't even work properly. It triggers at random, no way to manually force it. And so many times I wanted to quit the game and didn't know if my progress had been saved. Then, after walking around, I'd see the stupid autosave icon, just to come back the next day and lose my last 30 minutes of progress from the last session... How can they mess this up so bad, and not even implement it after so many years? I know this is a neatpick, but it's so damn frustrating that a game like this doesn't have such a basic function that older games in the series had. What do they have to gain from removing manual saves? So yeah the game isn't really great, except for the visuals, but it isn't bad. It's just such a dumb decision to remove basic quality of life saving mechanics that the previous titles of the series had, for no apparent reason...

Yeah, right? Instead of investing money to ensure their games and latest releases aren't rubbish, they prefer to put money in the pockets of European politicians to stop campaigns against Stop Killing Games. Screw them, the most disgusting company!

I have no idea where all the hate is coming from. The game is pretty easy, yeah, but it’s still a lot of fun to play. There’s plenty to do, and just because it’s simpler than some other games doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend it. If every FC game was the same, people would just complain about that too. Variety’s what keeps things interesting, and honestly, being easy isn’t a bad thing. I think this game deserves a bit more credit than the negative reviews are giving it. My point of view, the game’s pretty decent. Hunting isn’t as awesome as in other FC games, but it’s still alright. The part that comes back every time is the AI, they do some goofy stuff. They talk a lot, and sometimes they’ll run right in front of your car. AI also swerves. Getting hit by them while you’re driving. It’s kinda funny, honestly. AI steals your car too lol.

I played and finished Far Cry 3, it was an outstanding game. Beautiful locations, nice guns, awesome villains. Far Cry 4 because i am Indian and like the way they portrait it. 4 is basically the same gun-play-wise, it just added some more weapons, but again, it still has great locations, and an awesome villain. Far Cry 5 is different for me. I don't like it more then the previous games. It seems more worked through and overall better. Only bad things are forced story progression and lack of weapon customisation. and here is Far cry 6 " Disappointed " now you know the review is gonna be negative. Just like the others. Minor things have changed . DO NOT BUY unless this is on sale. i am very sad that one time i thought lets upgrade my computer to play far cry 6 . :[ if you are fan please buy in sale not worth the full price. this is my overall experience. you can see my playtime on all the 6 games.
