Excellent addition to the Far Cry series. It improves scope and story, creates plausible lore and the characters are memorable. Many mechanical elements were improved over previous games, i.e. unlocking towers vs. bases and checkpoints. Definitely deserves the investment in terms of both money and time to explore Yarra fully.

Far Cry 6: Thrilling Gameplay, Weak Story
The game delivers tight, smooth gameplay with responsive controls, satisfying gunplay, and a massive open world to explore. The variety of weapons, vehicles, and environments keeps things fresh, whether you're sneaking past enemies or going in guns blazing.
However, the story falls flat. Despite a strong performance from Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, the narrative lacks depth and emotional engagement. The plot feels shallow, and the characters don’t leave a lasting impact. At the end of game, I did not care for or remember any of names of the characters.
In short, Far Cry 6 shines in gameplay but struggles with its weak story, making it a fun action-packed experience that’s more about the ride than the narrative. If you've played the rest of the recent Far Cry games, then this is not a bad choice. If you have not, I would recommend starting with Far Cry 3 or 4 instead.

The main reason I'm saying NO to recommendation is that there are better Far Cry games out there.
It's NOT a bad game, although I disagree with several design decisions when comparing them to earlier iterations of the series.
Far Cry 6 is... just not the best in the series, but if you're a fan you will have fun with it. If you haven't played the others, 3,4,5 are fun, primal blood dragon and to a lesser extent New Dawn due to it suffering from some of the problems 6 suffers. (2 is interesting as well but a bit dated by now)
So unless you're a fan of the series I would pick up any of the other ones, if you own those and want another farcry.. well you will have fun moments with it, its just not on par with what this series provided us with before 6.

First far cry game I've played relatively longer. This is my favourite game because of the story, but you must know these before buying the game:
Some games from 2010-2013 has better mechanics than this game. Especially if you like flying a helicopter/plane in far cry, you will be greatly disappointed.(Far Cry 4 had better mechanics.)
There is an in-game store, but I haven't used it and I don't think it's necessary to use, as the game offers a lot of collectibles throught the map.
The game has a MAJOR issue. You can't leave the quests. There is a button for it but it only teleports you to the start of that quest. So if you begin a hard story quest without matching equipment, you will suffer a bit(like I did). But if you like to roam around you won't have that problem.(I was too lazy to change my loadout, there began the suffering.)
Other than that I don't think the game has any other major issues. I've never encountered bugs/glitches.
The game has quite a large map. You can simply explore, do side quests, gather various equipment and help friendly people along the way. Perhaps open world was the thing that did it for me. There are various vehicles you can ride/fly/drive. This includes horses, tanks, cars, planes, boats, helicopters. You can also call them as much as you wish, after you bring them to their designated save places.
If you played any far cry game, you know what will happen in the game. But the story is always different with these games, which simply offers the players fun. I'd recommend you play the game, just maybe grab it when in a sale.

One of the most fun games in the series, the map is unnecessarily huge, like they could have split it in half, and it would still be okay, but there's a lot of stuff to do. It has many choices of guns and weapons you can use and it is a banger.

Far Cry 6 is massively underwhelming and for the most part just a bad game. Just like most modern Ubisoft games, it runs fine, looks good and has a nice soundtrack, but that's where the positives end. Firstly, the story is terrible and I feel bad for Anton Castillo as I do believe he would've been a great and memorable villain in a much better game. Gameplay feels like it was ripped straight out of a modern COD game and I do not say that in a good way. We went from a somewhat slow paced but also fast enough movement model with punchy weapons to slide cancelling and bunny hopping all across outposts while the weapons we fire sound like wet farts. And don't even get me started on the many goofy ass weapons Ubisoft decided to add to the game, weapons that absolutely ruin your immersion but that you will absolutely have to use if you want to even have a chance in the late-game (Unless you are playing on the easiest difficulty I guess). We also get some animal pets that we can use against enemies and look and feel incredibly stupid as well as something called the "Supremo" which literally serves as a special ability that feels like it was ripped straight out of a hero shooter, two things which further ruin your immersion. Far Cry 6 just has absolutely no idea what it wants to be and it feels like the developers had a million different ideas and wanted to add everything they possibly could to the game, which resulted in a terrible experience that fails to satisfy even long time fans of the series.
But, there is one saving grace for this game and probably the only reason why I recommend it. The DLCs. Not Lost Between Worlds that thing is terrible and easily ranks among the worst expansions I have ever played. I am talking about Vaas: Insanity, Pagan: Control and Joseph: Collapse. All of these 3 DLCs make a fantastic job by further enhancing these three already fantastic characters and letting us know more about them. However they are really only worth playing if you've played Far Cry 3, 4 and 5 before, otherwise you will probably not understand anything. And the lore implications for every ending from the DLC are actually insane. Sadly they are mini rogue-likes but it really doesn't get too bad and they are really short.

If you loved Far Cry 3, You'll love Far Cry 4,5, and 6 because they're all the same game with no innovation at all. It's got a super dry gameplay cycle that i happen to enjoy so i am planning on beating the game, but it really isnt good unless you get it on a discount.
