It has it all, it's got your Remedy style live action cutscenes, Resident Evil resource management, Assassin's Creed verticality, Naughty Dog tier voice acting, DOOM tier soundtrack. This is an educational, multicultural, thrill ride.
Whether it's having palpitations from the pounding soundtrack, taking in the views from atop some of the most scenic places in the world, unravelling the David Lynchian plot, or just getting Ned on the blower for some trivia, I can't wait to be Monkey Splashed again.

The graphic is silly, but the game manages to walk that fine line between hard and infuriating that triggers that "one more try" feeling

If you like rage games / games that you can actively try to 100% / stream and need a fun game to play this is the one for you.
The mechanics are fairly straight forward, utilising just your mouse. Does this mean this game is easy? Absolutely not! It's a challenge and does make you want to scream sometimes but that's the style of game this is, and the devs have done a great job with that.
Because this is a game where you repetitively die and retry, the sounds are always a problem because they get really repetitive, but not in Monkey Splash!! They've clearly thought about the repetitiveness of the game and there is variations of the voice lines so you don't hear the exact same thing every single time. I also really appreciate that the soundtracks (which are insane btw) don't restart every time you die, so you actually get to listen to the whole thing.
The graphics are great, it's bright and colourful and fun.It plays really well and can easily keep you entertained for hours. If you're a streamer this game would work really well for you.

Quickly gets you hooked on trying to beat 'just one more level'. A fun twist on a precision platformer that's easy to learn but will take many hours to master! While completing each level is a challenge of its own, the speed, snack and soak score cards give you additional challenges that will really test your splashing skills. New power ups and enemies are introduced throughout the game and Jerome race levels and Scorch boss battles are also interspersed, keeping the gameplay continuously fresh.
Accompanying you is an energising soundtrack that offers a unique theme for each level. Timing your dives off the top of the level as the music drops (intentionally or otherwise) is extremely satisfying.
The art style is unique, colourful, and full of charm but doesn’t overwhelm you as you zip between spikes and swimmers. The voice acting for the cast of characters is charismatic and above all very British.
All around a fun and engaging platformer that continues to challenge you from beginning to end!

Ned the Easter Island Head. Where do I start?
Ned is such a sweet and caring soul. Truly an individual of care and love for history and preserving fascinating facts.
The gameplay is super engaging and at some times infuriating but in a good way it makes me cheer for success. Seeing all the different locations with the banging tunes really rewards you for completing levels.
But do you know what is more rewarding? Hearing that history buff, Ned the Easter Island Head, tell stories of time gone by. A thespian in the delivery of each life-changing fact that will truly open your view of the world and yourself.
Since interacting with Ned I have gone to the sacred island in Chile in search of more wisdom. I am currently writing this review while searching for Ned in all his glory. I hope to write more insightful facts when I find Ned in all his glory for now all I can say is that Monkey Splash changed my life and I hope it will change yours too!
I could not stop playing this game.
This addictive platformer toes the line between too hard and "I've almost got it", which kept me going all through my playthrough of the game.
The pure mouse controls are quick to pick up and the levels are fun and forgiving at first, then ramps up in difficulty and addictiveness. No matter how hard it gets, you always have a feeling of 'almost got it' just like a Dark Souls boss, and constructing level strategies to try and master was a thrill. Constantly throwing new ideas at you, you always want to keep going to see what could be coming next, be it a new power, new obstacle or challenge from an NPC.
The sound design is the standout feature here, with amazing musical work for each level and fun/funny SFX with each element. I usually play games muted, but Monkey Splash's audio was too good to mute.
I rolled credits, yet there are still various challenges I intend to go back to, which will keep me playing this more and more. There's more under the surface here to unlock, and I want to see it. Amazing work on this game from an amazing team!!
