Abathor is a fun, challenging throwback to the side-scrolling hack and slash games of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. It's also a blast if you've got friends to play couch co-op with. I recommend it if you're looking for a good retro game.

I don't mind games that look and sound a little retro. But as someone with no fond memories of the games that others have mentioned, I didn't find this one much fun.
Edit: I specifically bought the game because I was looking forward to 4P coop in the future, and man do the trailers look amazing. Unfortunately, the game itself just feels a little tame and bland in comparison, I'm missing more HYPE in the actual levels. If you are on the fence, I recommend that you watch an uncut playthrough of the first level or so, to see if you like the pacing.

Well that's pretty much the game mix and matching ALL of those characters ... 'Cept they dont have the Actual license

+++ good vision effect
++ decent MD-platform-style music
++ some interesting references to other classic games
- boring stage design
-- sucking platforms with distraction
-- almost useless character upgrades except for mp cool down
----- retarded character attack range compared to enemy makes you like a joke
--- have you devs thought about how players going to fight later stage bosses when they use the last character in epic mode?
----- do you devs realize that how dumb is that the conan's special attack forcing you to move forward from which whether you get damage or fall off from an edge?
