This game has some nice atmosphere and presentation,
but be warned it is full of annoyances and one nearly gamebreaking bug and that will not change.
The bug: I was stuck in the reactor due to the game saving items in your inventory and in the world when exiting or dying and thus an item needed for progression is past the point where I need it cause I died there.
The annoying stuff: Switching weapons is not done by pressing 1-4 but by pressing "G" which cycles through them, when you a weapon out and put it away by performing an action or going into your inventory you can press "G" again to pull out that weapon you last had! Really bad if you need a weapon with some oomph behind it (there are only 4 and they become gradually better, starting with a rusty knife then pistol)
Some enemies respawn and some dont when going through loadingscreens, best to run past everything that is a smallfry! Some enemies have the bad habit of ducking during combat which makes shooting them kinda hard, I am glad I got enough ammo and not an insanely itchy triggerfinger otherwise I would have gone nut.
Minor endgame spoiler:
Bossfight at the end can be beaten without using ammo btw, so go nuts when entering what is clearly the final zone.
No updates will come as the dev confirmed: At least I can try his workaround > finished the game, it was good aside from see above.

There is a point to the game where if the reactor core is off the laser it will soft-lock your progress if you die.

Unfortunately this game is extremely unpolished. It needed a lot more time to smooth-out many things like movements, text sizes, lighting, menus etc.
As someone who plays on controller and avoids keyboard/mouse combo (because I can't arch forward to play with them), I was highly disappointed that this game does not have a proper controller support. The Steam load-out doesn't work much.
The Story looked good but I just could not play beyond a few levels because the controls were becoming annoying.

Really awful performance. My rig isn't Nasa level but I can run most titles on the highest settings with no issue, meanwhile it was lucky if I got over 45 fps on the lowest settings in this game. Combine that with a nauseating camera and generally boring gameplay and I just cant find myself recommending this game, despite its interesting premise.

I’ve given this game a recommend because I had fun playing it. That might not be the case for you, so keep reading if you’d like to know more.

First, the general setting and inspiration of the game is sold as being based on H.R. Giger. Not going to dispute this, but I will say that despite this inspiration, the game largely takes place inside sci-fi hallways and bunkers and only really goes full on (biomass kind of all over the place aside) at the very end. I’m not saying that this is necessarily a bad thing, but for the most part the Giger elements appear to be very limited or over-used to the point of just being a thing you walk beyond rather than stop to admire. It’s present, but it kind of feels like it’s taking the backseat a lot of the time.
Speaking of stopping to admire things, you better hope that it’s in a well-lit area because otherwise you’re wasting the absolutely limited supply of your flashlight’s battery. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to people who are well-versed in survival horror, but you will have to manage your resources extremely closely otherwise you’re going to be stuck just running through halls and trying to get to the next thing with bad things chasing you, rather than being able to use your resources to kill said bad things. The flashlight battery was a personal pet-peeve of mine because the game is DARK by default. Turn up your gamma in-game. You’ll thank me later. Also, your flashlight is basically useless when the walls are black and it has a very short range.
Speaking of limited resources, let’s talk about the save system and how it works just so you go into the game fully aware of what’s going to happen when you die. Throughout the game you’ll find alien eggs that can be used to save the game in a specific place. That’s cool and all, but whenever you enter new zones or do new things you trigger an automatic save which overwrites your manual save at the eggs. It kind of renders them useless to a degree. (Apparently this is not the case. According to the dev, if you click Continue on the main screen then click NO when asked if you want to continue, it'll show you other saves that you can load from.)
Also, when you die, anything you used from the last save point to the point that you died is gone. Walk into a room and get an autosave (it doesn’t tell you when it autosaves), then kill two bad guys with a lot of ammo, only to die to a third? That ammo is gone in the void now. You won’t get it back when your save reloads. You won’t get it back when you exit the game and restart it/reload it. It’s gone now. So you can get into some extremely tricky situations where you have absolutely no ammo because you tried to kill things but ended up dying anyway, so now you have no ammo, no batteries, and no health when you respawn and those things that you killed previously are back. Unsure if this is intended or not, but it is something you should be aware of while you play. Guns are also not exactly consistent in damage or feel, so it’s not a good idea to rely on them to kill things anyway.
Bad guy AI is what it is, so generally if you jump up on something high and are away from the edge, they can’t really touch you and might even just walk away. This helps in the above situations where you don’t have any ammo to spare. Movement isn’t always the smoothest, so you’ll kind of need to get the hang of it before really running past enemies all the time.
The game’s puzzles are mostly just walk forward, find X, use X on Y. Not that this is very surprising for the kind of game we’ve got here, but there are a few that you may get stuck on for a bit. If that’s the case, remember to hit T and try to turn on the little waypoints that tell you what to do in the points of interest menu.
One thing I did actually enjoy was the general sound design and music. Sometimes it was just there, but other times it was pretty nice. Not something you’ll always notice, but it does its job, so that’s nice.
I won’t say much about the story because it might end up being spoilers, but there is a story, let’s say. You have to read a lot of the collected notes and scraps and things you find in the game (and there’s a lot), but if you end up liking what’s written, you won’t find yourself lacking in things to read.
The game has issues, and honestly one of the issues is just that it might not live up to how cool the trailer and screenshots make it look. Like I said at the beginning, I had fun, but if any of the above sounds like a turn off to you, then it might not be the game for you.

I streamed my whole play through with my thoughts as I did over here, so if you’d like to see my (dumb) commentary as I play the game for the first time, then that might also be a good way to see if you would like to play the game as well.

The developer of this and Nebraska has a style that I like. They both remind me of the Penumbra series. I liked the world design and sound effects. It has some good scares and is soaked with atmosphere. I enjoy these lower budget indie games and have played quite a bit of them. If that’s your flavor then you might enjoy this. FOV slider is included (THANK YOU!!) It does have some issues though. You cannot customize controls at all (I use Synapse and iCUE to get around this), the invert mouse option is broken and resets to off after each load screen. I provided an ini fix in the community hub for this. Stealth seems to be broken and I found myself sprinting through areas to advance, combat is VERY WEAK and broken which is a shame. I kept losing ammo for no reason, when you die and reload you LOSE all the ammo you spent and there were no direct crosshairs or iron sites to aim…very strange. The game ran smooth but damn did it run my 3080 hot at 60fps.
I hope the developer keeps making new games but you really need to work on including more options like control customization and improving combat. I will say thank you again for the FOV slider because that was a complaint I had in my Nebraska review that you included here.
Pick this up on sale if you like indie horror games

I gave this game many chances because of small problems like when you go through a "loading screen door" you always spawn backwards looking at the door you came out and it's confusing but you're getting used to problems like this. What i'll never get used of is that the game saves only your progress, not your ammo and meds and stuff. You shoot one bullet to a monster and you die. When you respawn that bullet you fired is gone.I came very far in game but i ran out of bullets fighting a horde of monsters and guess what.Right after that there is a boss to fight! And i have no faking bullets. That's where my patience ran out and uninstalled the game.I can't believe no one mentioned the game's biggest problem.
It is a great shame because it has awesome setting and music, both scary and breathtaking.

I think the game has been very interestin' thus far. The first near hour that I've spent with it has been tense. The game does not rely on jump scares but instead it uses tension and some world building.

What I liked:
+ The atmosphere is tense, darkness is dark, you can sneak past enemies
+ Good pacing, if you get stuck there are points of interest in the notepad which should help
+ Fairly short (6 h), doesn't have filler locations, items are limited
+ Audio
What bothered me were mostly small things:
- No separate audio sliders for SFX, dialogue - only master volume and music
- Tutorial room which has like 5x5 metres and takes 20 seconds to complete had the lowest fps compared to the rest of the game with same settings - weird
- I would prefer to have better area transitions - hold use button instead of click for example or make it clear that the door are area transitions (not all were marked with text)
- Clunky weapons equiping
- For completionists: Survivor mode and 1000 kills achievement (must be done in one try, not cumulative) will test your PC to the limit, you have to abuse AI and the game is not really optimized to have up to 80+ of AI pathing to your location and still run smoothly, not sure why there is such an absurd number of kills for the achievement (but I got it)
