Playtime: 145 minutes
This game's lofi graphics and gameplay look like they were made as an hommage to the SEGA Master System (SEGA's best console IMO), so it was right up my alley. The game is made of 9 levels each made up of two parts, a short platformer and a Boss fight. Plus one bonus level at the end. The platforming is very easy, but the bosses on the other hand are something else. The main difficulty is that your sword reach is only two millimeters in front of your characters so most of the time you think you're going to hit the boss but you're too far (and he can hit you). Either you're too far or you're too close and you take damage from encroaching the boss, which sometimes prevents you from attacking too. Due to this problem the first three bosses are very difficult, it culminates with the third boss Under the sea which looks like it's unbeatable at first until you realize you can beat him easily by jumping over him and doing the downward attack. But the lofi and rigid aspect of the gameplay at least has the advantage that you can, get into "the zone" and start getting used to the weird timing and maniability. The Following bosses are a lot easier when you realize you can beat them with one of the powers you learn during the game. The game is rather short (around two hours) As you can see this is definitely not for everybody, but I described it sufficiently for you to know if it's your jam.
