The Good: - Doom I and II with all the expansions in one package - Widescreen and high frame rate support - Various audio choices depending on what feels nostalgic to you - The new Legacy of Rust expansion is a great addition - Free upgrade for owners of the originals on steam - Legacy DOS launch option The Bad: - Achievements can be easily cheesed with cheat codes - Significant difficulty spike between the main games and expansions The Ugly: - Same bugs as the original, some levels you won't be able to 100% without cheats If you want to play Doom I & II on modern hardware, look no further.

This is a tremendous package with tons of value. Doom is already one of my favorite games of all time and is the pinnacle of classic 90's FPS games besides Quake and Half-Life, but what this new version brings to the table is so much good value for what you're paying. At it's cheapest, you get Doom and Doom II, The Master Levels for Doom II, All of Final Doom, No Rest for the Living, Sigil I and II and a new episode called Legacy of Rust alongside many of the most popular Doom WADs created years and decades ago and multiplayer deathmatch and coop support for Custom WADs as well! This game is going for $5 right now on the Steam Sale and this is by far one of the best games money can buy. While the quality of each of the official WADs/episodes varies, you still get some of the best gameplay Doom has to offer with it's original 1993 game and other Episodes like TNT Evilution and The Plutonia Experiment alongside the modern and incredibly cool No Rest for the Living which is finally available on PC. Everything in the new KEX Ports are so modern with lots of accessibility options, not to mention tons of extras to keep you coming back. And don't forget about the WADs, you can play Doom as a Spaghetti Western, Doom as an Aliens game, Pirate Doom, Doom in the Mushroom Kingdom, there's so many possibilities and there's hundreds if not thousands of WADs submitted here for hundreds and thousands of hours of playtime. I absolutely found myself in love with playing Classic Doom again. The gameplay is timeless and while it's not nearly as over the top violent as Modern Doom games are, there's still lots to love about playing this game. I can't think of a better FPS Package than this, this is absolutely fantastic and you need to play these games, these are the OG and probably the best for a reason as it defined what an FPS is and how amazing an FPS can be if done right.

It's DOOM 1 + 2 in a fancy new port. Has a great mod browser that comes installed with the game. My only real problem is the option to disable auto-aim, but you can't aim up and down so I guess it's fair. Also has a fresh multiplayer mode, co-op and deathmatch. Super fun and nostalgic. 26 new multiplayer maps. Comes with a brand new episode Legacy of Rust. has about 6 new enemies, including some cut from the beta version of Doom, and 2 new weapons; the incinerator a fun medium range flame thrower that replaces the plasma gun as well as the CALAMITY BLADE, a sick room clearing firestorm weapon that replaces the BFG, It's DOOM 1 + 2 with all the expansions. TNT, Plutonia Experiment, Master Levels for Doom 2, No Rest for the Living (the Xbox 360 eclusive episode released way back in 2010), SIGIL by John Romero, and Legacy of Rust. It's great and you should be playing it. Hours of fun. Do it coward.

The ultimate collection for Doom and old-school shooter fans . old but still crazy fun. You run around blasting demons with cool guns, no messing around. Simple, fast, and just awesome. Total classic.

Classic. Still fun to this day, plus there's plenty of mods to keep you entertained. Even though the in-built mod thingy kind of sucks, you can easy connect it to 3rd party software such as GZDoom.

I don't feel I need to say much about this. I keep coming back to this game after years pass. It's just such an amazing experience. Sometimes I like comparing it to other games from similar times like Dark Forces or Duke Nukem 3D for example. I used to say those other games were more advanced and did various things better and yet it's this one that I keep returning to the most. Because the smoothness and the joy of the gameplay is just unmatched. I know it's old and has many limitations, but for me they add to the charm. The fact you can't look up and down in the vanilla version is a consequence of a very clever engine design that's lightning fast and works even on fridges, calculators and pregnancy testers. But it renders the image in vertical lines and you'd get a messed up distorted perspective when looking up or down. So some people run it on source ports, which means rewritten engine and code, sometimes very drastically, depending on the source port, to unlock this kind of features. But I love the vanilla experience to be honest. It really works just the way it is, because it's that good. This newest version combines so many map packs in one, you get lots of gameplay in it. I appreciate having all the official releases put together. There have been so many. And there's even some brand new content. Highly recommended!
DOOM + DOOM II – 100% Completion Review
All achievements earned, every secret found, all episodes and maps cleared on Ultra-Violence These are not just retro shooters. They are the foundation of the genre, and they still hold up remarkably well today. DOOM (1993) is surgical in its simplicity. Movement is fast. Guns are punchy. Every level is a maze of secrets, switches, and enemy ambushes. The shotgun still feels perfect. Completing it fully means scouring each level, not just for kills, but for hidden areas, alternate routes, and those classic glowing secrets. It rewards aggression and awareness in equal measure. DOOM II takes that foundation and throws more at you. More enemies, more traps, more verticality, and much harder maps. The Super Shotgun becomes the star, and fights start to resemble puzzles where positioning and crowd control matter more than raw aim. Full completion here feels like a gauntlet, especially as map design grows more experimental and brutal. The updated Steam versions add modern quality-of-life improvements like widescreen support, enhanced controls, and quick saves. That makes 100 percent runs much more manageable without compromising the original feel. Neither game has a story worth recapping, but they do not need one. The atmosphere, the pacing, and the relentless forward motion tell you everything. You are not here to reflect. You are here to survive, explore, and conquer.
DOOM and DOOM II are still essential. They are lean, aggressive, and built to be mastered. Fully completing them today is not just nostalgic, it is a reminder of how much design clarity can be packed into two-digit megabytes.
