This game is a fun and short but well-made and very balanced combination of previous old Contra games. There are stages and bosses from the old classics, and the "modern" graphics style fits well with the game overall.
The game is also well balanced in terms of difficulty; there is the option to pick from easy up to extreme (you need to unlock this difficulty), and you can choose to play with a health bar instead of the classic old-style one hit.
Also, there are many characters to choose from, each one with some special ability (e.g., double jump, air dash, etc.), and each character has weapon variations.
In addition, in the "extra" side of the game. You can choose to play with perks or skills; there are some challenges, and something that I really like is that the game offers different BGM, and I like to play with the classic old Castlevania BGM.
So, about the bad things. First and more importantly is the price. I really think that this is a good game, but not for full price; better wait for a sale.
Other things that I would have loved to see are skins for the characters, plus more and new weapons.

As 90's kid, loved to play Contra again after 90's. . Just i couldn't finish it, too hard for modern busy life. No time to struggle in games as in 90's.. I wish it had an easy mode option.
