Redacted is one of the very few games I continued playing after getting all the achievements for it. Which is very rare for me. If you need a fast paced rogue like kick this is the perfect game. If Hades and Callisto Protocol had a child, this would be it. I definitely recommend trying it.

Fun and addictive, makes me want for a new version of Callisto from the PoV of a prison guard. HL Blue Shift style! If you don't mind dying (alot) the grind here for gear and weapons is really enjoyable. Gameplay is smooth and fast. The game appears to be well optimized as well, no crashes etc. Worth the price of admission imo.

Still new to this, but appreciate what they've done with the Hades template. This time we're a prison guard racing against prisoners and other staff to the ONE escape pod. Besides harvesting upgrades and resources to spend in the hub between rounds to better your chances in future runs, the game adds a clever competitive twist. Besides simply needing to clear each room to proceed to the next, you have an incentive to do so as quickly as possible to race against your AI opponents to the end goal. If speed itself isn't enough to get you ahead, being a prison guard familiar with the facility's many systems, you're able to remotely set traps for your opponents to either slow them down or maybe make them more vulnerable to the game's many environmental hazards. While I love the concept of booby trapping opponents, this is normally performed via inputting exact quick time event combinations, which you can fortunately disable in options (so then you'd only need to designate a target and put in the first key of the necessitated combo).

Game is fun. Less polished than Hades and more synergy between experiment (boon) would give an entire new depth to it. Right Now most of them are mostly useless. However the <1mb cloud storage they set is not enough to even hold one save file... So forget moving from your PC to your Steam Deck or another PC... I contacted the support about it and even with screenshot of Steam Support telling me this is a setting they set on their part the support was more than useless continuously sending me premade answers. I gave up trying to explain after about a month of going in circle. Will just go back to Hades instead.

Amazing roguelike, however FIX YOUR BUGS. I've lost about 10 runs to game crashing midway or at the end of my run and the game just deletes my run i dont get my rewards, nothing.

I'm torn on this... On one hand, I don't usually like to recommend games that crash constantly, and the other reviews are correct in that there are a lot of bugs with this game: - The remote attack menu locked up on me a few times and I couldn't input the attack or leave the menu - The end game screen froze on me a few times. The *first* time it happened, I didn't know that the end screen wasn't technically the end, so I restarted the game and realized my previous run didn't count. - I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but *to me* it seems like the projectile hitboxes are larger than the actual projectile animations. Either that or the player hitbox is fatter than it appears. There have been multiple instances where I made sure to stand outside of the supposed projectile range only to still be hit. I don't know a better way of explaining it so your mileage may vary. - Also, this next point isn't a mark against the game, but just make sure you dodge *before the enemy attack animation starts*. Because sometimes you will get instantly hit even though their attack animation hasn't even started yet. No better way to explain that other than for you to get hit a few times, then ask what in the world did you get hit by. On the other hand, this game is pretty fun when it works: - It's definitely difficult, so you'll get your money's worth there. - The voice acting is a nice touch, and Mr. Green is pretty funny sometimes. - The art, the level design, and the animations are beautiful, so credit where credit is due - There's decent replay-ability, but some of the weapons and elements (augments? skills?) feel lackluster no matter how many times you buff them. I suppose this is to prevent power creep, but then again that's what the security levels are for, so it's whatever I guess. These next two are just my personal grievances with the game. You are free to disagree with me, I don't care: - The music sucks. Turn it off immediately. - Boss 3 and 4 are overtuned DPS checks. At least 1 and 2 you can learn the mechanics to avoid getting hit while using low DPS weapons. However, 3 and 4 you will get hit no matter what if you don't burst them down fast enough. But why would you use a low DPS build? Well, when you first start out you actually can't upgrade any of the weapons until you clear the game. So you're stuck at low DPS for a while, giving you plenty of time to learn all the mechanics, but not enough damage to take advantage of the ones on 3 and 4. However, I'll give you a pro tip for 4:
Run to the Southeast corner of the arena and stay there until he walks over. Try to keep him there if you can, and when he does his second and third phase attacks, they will be blocked by the wall and you won't get hit. This *doesn't* always work though as he'll usually walk away from the corner.
- *speculative* but there have been reports of the
Last Chance
skill not working on occasion, thus ending runs immediately. This hasn't happened to me personally, but I have read about it happening to multiple people on their
Watcher
runs; aka
there goes all your progress
. Take this with a grain of salt, and pray it doesn't happen to you when you activate that mode. All in all, it's a an above average game with some very rough spots that still need to be fixed, mainly the crashing. I'll still recommend it, just get it on sale if you're still interested.
