Another surprise great lil survivorslike with two distinctive (I think? I've played a lot of survivorslikes but not all of them lol) mechanics that set it aside for me.
1. Skill tree! Not only does this resolve the concept of "banishes" by making your upgrades only things you've chosen to *include*, but also weapon upgrade abilities overlap! i.e., your talisman explosion causes an extra explosion if it's near a mine your other skill laid. I hate using banishes in other games, and always wondered why there was never overlap synergy between upgrades, so I love this.
2. Mana! You'd think it would be annoying, but it's actually a pretty interesting mechanic that limits how quickly you can make a screenclearing build. I enjoy balancing building my DPS with not manascrewing myself.
Oh yeah, and there are no "gather all EXP" items because every boss chest just does it. Nice to know when they're coming, and that they are lol.
These, plus a sorta linear "story mode" where you actually need to work to pass successive stages, this is a VERY easy recommend at the price.
