I would recommend this game to others as it is a fun and easy way to pass time. It can still be a good challenge based on how you want to play as well as a lot of luck good and bad. I like the sorting system for the spell book, it made all the types easy to find and browse. As well the customizing the cloaks was a neat addition for a personal touch for the players.

I like the different direction! I love that they added dash arcana again though, and changed the 3d art to be more cartoony. The only thing this version is missing is more content. I can't wait to see the new relic and arcana combos! Currently the starting options are a little lacking, but it is about as limiting as the first pool or two in the first game.
Even without 4 player this game would be a new favorite!!!

Lots of content added on to the first game whilst keeping its overarching premise
Art style is different which doesn't bother me
Characters including: design, voice acting and individuality has been greatly improved
Combat flows significantly better than wizard of legend 1
Game feels more fast paced, I would argue harder but fairer as well
The way they changed enhanced arcana is a massive upgrade
Would recommend playing, is just a genuinely fun roguelike

I'm not a huge fan of rogue-like games, but I actually LOVED the original Wizard of Legend. This game isn't *much* different from the original, but it's completely broken. I haven't been able to natively exit the game yet. It says I have 3 hours of gameplay, but it's really more like an hour and 2 hours of trying to get out of the game. I know it's early, so I'll check back for hope that they fix this game, but extremely disappointing that one of the few of those games that I actually enjoyed dropped the ball so hard on their sequel... but that seems to be a common tune sung...

Latest update fixed the game's problems. It's an Early access so there's stuff that will be missing, and if you don't see that, you're kind of a dummy. Still, it had some optimization problems and had some needed QoL changes, most notably the map toggle keybind working for both toggling it on and off and not just on. The game runs much more smoothly and idk why, but it works. I'm hoping for great updates in the future

I was very sad to see the mixed reviews on this game after enjoying my time on wizard of legend 1 so I decided to buy the sequel to see what was up.
After finishing my first run, I do agree that the combat feels pretty sloppy.
The feedback when hitting enemies is not very satisfying and the enemies health bar could use a visual rework.
That being said I already saw a lot of new gameplay elements in the game that make the game different than the first and to me that's a good thing.
There are too many reviews that want this game to just be more wizard of legend 1, and actively depise the devs for trying something new.
Voice acting is a little meh but I don't care that much.

So far I have really enjoyed a refresh to the original game. I really like some of the new features of the game like the player customization. Also the ability to customize the difficulty of the dungeons is a nice touch.
As one can expect there is not a lot of content to play through at the moment but a good amount for a early access game. The difficulty of the game can seem a bit harsh starting out. I have noticed there is a adjustment to learning the attack patterns of enemies in this game compared to the original. It may seem difficult at first but I have found it to be the most thrilling mechanic of the game.
Seems like most games these days are just to easy to beat. This one poses a new challenge and really test your skills as a gamer to read the attack patterns of your enemies, customizing your characters abilities and relic management.
So far I have not see very many bugs that are mentioned in the negative reviews. The art style is an upgrade and a refresh from the original. Medallions and the abilities are a great addition to the game. Arcane upgrades are not as basic as they once were, which adds another layer of customization to the play through.
This is a grinding game, so be ready to loose a lot more than you win, but that's the qualities of a good rougelike game. You get better the more you play, and its really great to play with friends! Can't wait to see future updates.
Suggestion to the Devs:
- Wave based battle arena please!
(similar to the one you can encounter in the biomes)
Look i know Hades had wholesome side characters and you chose to take wol in that direction with some voice acting but these guys really butt in during the run. With sick lines like "only good vibes here" and "yeah its not Glarshes hammer that gets ya its the acid breath". oh and there was constant flashing and visual bugs I was honestly more put off by the tone of the dialogue, please stop observations aren't jokes. Combat lacks the razors edge. i'm going to re play one for a bit. I think a closer to top down view would be nice and maybe make the game 33% faster.

The trailer says it supports 4 player co-op, but it currently only supports 2 player co-op.

Tried this game back in October with a friend and we enjoyed the concept and a lot of the ideas that were being shown. We did stop playing the game after about about 11 hours of play due to there being many frequent bugs spanning the range of what you may experience (visual, combinations with bad interactions, basic controls, multiplayer syncing, etc.). This is understandable with a new early access game, so we wrote it off and decided to come back later and see how things developed.
We came back to the game yesterday and noticed that nearly every bug from before was still present, along with some new ones that we occasionally discover (they are common enough to get nearly every run). After only about 3 hours, we already were ready to put the game away again.
Normally, this is not worth a negative review in my eyes, even with it having been months since we last played and a lot of the basic obvious bugs still being present. The reason I'm leaving a negative review is all of this, combined with the fact that there was an update that released today (2/10/25) enabling 4-player games with no bug fixes mentioned. This just leaves a sour taste in my mouth given that the game is clearly not ready for 4-player gameplay. It has been months with the same common bugs that happen multiple times per run still being present. There has even been a couple of content patches in the meantime as well that makes it seem like a money grab and that development time is being put in the wrong place.
If the development team focuses on fixing the ever present bugs, this game may be redeemable, but as of now, I wouldn't buy until they can show that to be the case.
