Saw it on a pre-release stream (Gracias, Rentheory) & thought I'd give it a go. Simple to operate and navigate; nice weapon choices and upgrades; fun comic book concept; & pure chaos on screen that kind of reminds me of some over the top view old arcade games like Mercs for Sega Genesis (insert back in my day quote). Nice array of characters & story lines from which to choose. Not too expensive either ($10 USD but $7 on sale when I bought it upon release).
Leveling up some close range weaponry helped my first run as the enemies because stronger & more numerous. Now I just need to enjoy it with a friend. I wish they could drop it on Xbox & PS. Might sell a lot on those respective online stores. ;)
So if you're looking for something simple to play with little time to stand still, imo, this can fill that niche for a few bucks.
*EDIT: So I tried this with someone online and it was a clusterduck to say the least (watching my foul language). Thanks for letting me attempt to play, PewpewPwney. The co-op seemed laggy at best and it was not uncommon to get glitched into a wall on "The Other Side". The online was confusing to join with the "Username & Game Pass" method. 2 Player just does like a one screen local game I guess.
To summarize: co-op online was laggy at best, hard to start, and it wasn't uncommon for the 2nd player to glitch into a wall. That needs fixing. I still recommend the game & it has potential, but 2 player needs addressing. if it was based of a 5 star system like Xbox Live, I'd go from 5 stars to 3 stars to be optimistic.
Key takeaway: Fix 2 player, please.

Very cool game, does a lot more than Vampire survivor and has a great co-op feature. True indie hidden gem

Looks like it should run on a potato. The minimum requirements are just silly. It is my fault for not reading specs though.

Needs more content, and a bit more cooking, but the seasoning is just right!!

I am recommending this game, because I want indie games to succeed and I want to encourage dev's everywhere. However, I think this game needs to address quite a few things before I could actually feel good about really recommending that you spend your money here.
This game looks awesome, I love the 3d and 2d mix. I really enjoy the different settings and all the fun enemies and classes. There is a fun gameplay loop in this game, it just needs to be brought out and polished up.
There are quite a few bugs, that could easily be fixed. There are certain dialogue errors and typos that make the game feel rushed. There are some strange levels and quests that just feel lazily and quickly thrown in. As another great review here said, I WANT to like this game.
There is a lot of good here, but there is also a lot that needs polishing and fixing. I would consider this game an early access game, but not a game ready to be released by any means. If you are okay with that, I would purchase it, but it looks like there is no guarantee that any updates will come out.
As an indie game developer myself, I would suggest a few quick things that would make this game feel more rewarding and fun.
1. Make the characters unlockable, as well as some of the scenarios.
2. Make the current unlocks much cheaper, you want your players to be experiencing new content on each playthrough.
3. I would make a story mode, and an endless mode for each area. Once you play through the story of one area, it loses all replay value because the maps don't change and the quests don't either, and the positions of collectibles also dont.
4. I would polish up some of the graphics, having a thin black outline around everything, and strange transparency makes the game look not as good, also you could make readability a little better by taking off blood splats during explosions that don't hurt the player.
5. I would pay someone $80 to make some catchier music during some of the more repetitive areas (labyrinth)
6. I would work on the storytelling just a bit more, and some of the enemies do seem strange and like they don't really fit.
7. Like others have said, fix the UI. Please.
8. Instead of responding to every review with "Thanks for playing our game!!" , actually address the comments and tell people what you plan on doing. It comes across as you not caring / not taking the time to read these.
I wan't others to give your game a chance, I don't want it to be flooded with negative reviews or have a bad review score, but I expect you to address issues with this game. If you don't, I will probably change my review to be negative.

lots of Tarantino grindhouse hype, no feet.
menu controls are pretty annoying, can randomly use the mouse in places and not others. most is locked to E, enter, and backspace. "precision" aim mode isn't that precise either, it tries to float itself back to straight left, right, up, down and the ret is locked into a orbit around the character. optimization is pretty bad as well. Can run FFXIV on max settings and too many mobs in Outer Terror will lag and cause stutter. Interacting w/ quest npcs will get you killed as mobs do not pause attacks. Level up selections/weapons/items are pretty vanilla and do not power you up that much. The gold grind for upgrades is hella grindy.
Game art, story, characters, and the voice acting are pretty pulpy though, love those aspects.

Fun game so far. Plays kind of like a Vampire Survivor style of game where it auto attacks but in this you can manually aim attacks as well. The title is more on the arcade style of gameplay. Has a few different scenarios you can play through and several selectable characters with different starting weapons and special attacks.
Pros:
- Has 20 minute gameplay loops so can play in small burst
- Stages have missions/quests you can take on which sometimes add to the lore of the scenario or have some funny or weird things that happen. Fun way to break up the gameplay.
- All characters seem to have different specials I am still experimenting with.
- The art style is neat and every scenario feels like a call back to some 70/80’s horror movie.
- Co-op is rad.
Cons:
- Found some parts of the game confusing or not explained too well.
- Didn’t realize for a couple of playthroughs that the hand looking icons on the upgrades are tied to how many things you
can hold. You can only hold up to 8 arm logos things and some items take one arm while others take 2
- The coins you collect while playing are for an upgrade shop on the main menu
- The boundary of the stages is represented by mist but the player can take damage if they get to a certain point near the colored barrier and not in it. This was confusing the first couple of times I died near the edge of a map but didn’t touch the colored area.
- Explosions pulse the screen with a red effect that looks like you got hurt even if you haven’t got hurt.
Some stuff I think would be cool in future updates:
- Would be cool to have a mode that chains the scenarios together since they seem like they may be linked to each other story wise.
- Might be a bug but doesn’t seem to save options settings. I personally like turning off the CRT filter, in my opinion makes the game look much better.
- Seems odd these days to not have Steam cards or Achievements. Not a deal breaker for me but I feel like others would want this.
Will try to update as I play more and see more of the game.
Mini update post 1.2 patch:
- The settings seem to save so the game launches with the CRT filter off
- The mist boundary seems more defined and you can see what part you take damage in now so that's good since there are some missions that need you to be up close to the fog/mist.
- The rate of coins you get to upgrade from the main menu was greatly increased.
- Looks like there may have been some graphical update? everything looks a lot cleaner and more defined like the enemies, but this could just be me.
If I notice more and get time will update again.

This game is tough. I really want to like it, but it's entering the market when so many other games in the genre are just flat out better.
Pros:
1) Great concept with the comic book style scenarios.
2) Adding quests to this style of game is a good concept.
3) The body horror is a welcome change to the standard fantasy skin these games tend to have.
4) 10 playable characters to start is great.
5) Excellent graphics, especially with scanlines enabled. Really gives that 90s feel.
Cons:
1) No Deck support. Tried using multiple versions of Proton/GE, no success.
2) In under 2 hours of gameplay, I soft locked twice losing two different 6000+ kill runs.
3) Cutscenes are awkward and skipping them goes line by line, despite the text never changing.
4)Weapon balance is non-existent, every run that I've taken all single-handed weapons has been far, far easier. Two handed weapons seem to be much worse. This might be character specific, but I wouldn't know, because:
5) No explanation of weapons, characters, skills, etc. Maybe I overlooked how you can check these things, but in game there did not seem to be a way to check damage, health, skills, even the items only show a one-time pop-up as to what they do.
6) Some runs, weapons would not be able to be improved. It seemed to happen with melee weapons more frequently, but some weapons would just get stuck at level 1. If you chose to upgrade them, it would stay at the same level and you would be offered the same upgrade choices next time. Is this intentional?
7) Meta progression is t e r r i b l e. You collect money at an agonizingly slow pace. In 1.5 hours of gameplay, I was roughly 1/4 of the way to purchasing my FIRST upgrade. There are also very few, uninteresting choices for spending money. They need to add character specific progression, or change the way money is gained. Maybe this picks up as sessions go longer, but I don't feel compelled to find out.
8) Damage is not indicated properly. When a car explodes off screen, I get a big scary red screen flash. When an enemy is crawling on my skin, no screen change aside from health bar rapidly dropping.
As it stands, I'm not sure how this game can justify 2x the cost of Vampire Survivors for a small percentage of the content, less polish, and no real defining features outside of the theme. I really want to love this game. I'm going to hold out hope that the devs address the issues and polish this up, because I think it has a solid base that can be built on.

Aesthetically it's pretty cool, but content-wise it's pretty light. No real sense of what you need to do in a given level, or what the weapons are doing for you. The meta-progression is laughably slow, and I found myself getting really bored of the game before I was anywhere near being able to afford an upgrade. There's also some optimization issues, which is strange for this style of game. Certain levels would slow to a crawl even if there weren't a lot of enemy sprites on screen.

In such a saturated market for this type of game, there's really no reason to buy this one. Aesthetically, I love it. Don't get me wrong, the theme is great and the visuals are fine. But you need to really nail the core gameplay if you're only going to offer a fraction of the content and polish that many other, much cheaper games can deliver. The idea of having a base and doing quests in a Survivor-like is really interesting, I wish it was played out better.
I'll list out the things I particularly disliked:
The persistent progression is very, very slow for this type of game
Weapon and item choice is very limited, and leveling them up is just adding damage or sometimes a projectile. Very little noticeable variation between runs
UI is extremely lacking. Can't even change settings during a run, can't check your stats, weapon details, or anything
Quest objectives are often obscure and hard to find, and it doesn't come off as fun exploration, it comes off as frustrating
The dialogue moves incredibly slow, but skipping it doesn't speed it up, it just skips to the next line. You just have to wait for it, and it is very slow.
I've encountered a couple of run-stopping bugs, where a quest line or character interaction becomes stuck
The controls are very weird on Key/Mouse, they're not as bad on controller
I don't hate this game, I've just played so many better ones that it's hard to recommend this one.
