good lord, do not play this game with a controller. i have nerve damage down my left side so i can only play games with a controller, and this game is impossible to play. left and right with the tank controls are far too slippy. it does what it sets out to do brilliantly but its unplayable for me. ill still give it a good review, but my word, please stiffen up the controller support

A unique VHS style horror game with a 3rd person perspective. Solve Puzzles and escape this place you find yourself in. Feels similar to Resident Evil with the graphics, puzzles, and looting. You can only carry 4 things so it makes you think and plan your next move, smooth experience overall!

This game is so much better than the developer's first game Night of the Scissors. A clear step up improvement. This is a stylish retro stealth horror game that takes place entirely in a farmhouse. Basically you grab items and solve mini puzzles while running away from a cannibal with a cleaver. Lots of fun. Usually I do not enjoy stealth games, but the difficulty balance in this game is spot on perfect. So much so that I replayed the game on Hard and got all the achievements. It took me just over an hour to beat the game on normal difficulty, and then around 25 minutes to beat the game on hard difficulty. (Because I knew where all the items were) + The stylish VHS filter and atmosphere of the house is well done. Also the VHS filter gets more grainy as the killer is near you, this adds tension and is a cool game mechanic. The game uses fixed camera angles for atmospheric effect (and retro effect). + The stealth sections are well balanced, there are no cheap deaths. If the enemy catches you, 99% of the time its your own fault for running in the wrong direction. + The sound effects are creepy and on headphones you can hear the location of the enemy, creaky floorboards, doors opening etc... + The game is Tense but Fun, not frustrating like most stealth games are. + The item locations for the puzzles are well placed around the house, and the house is well designed in general. - I don't really have any negatives other than the game could be longer, and have more graphical options. - Maybe some people will be annoyed by the VHS filter on the screen the whole game. Its a well balanced polished little package. If you know what you are getting into, being retro and all, this game will satisfy your horror stealth gaming itch. Overall: 9 / 10
