Requires mods in modern day to make the game playable on PC without alot of jank. Love the game and combat, but the AI can just wipe your most elite units cheesily with an atom bomb. Up to you if that's something you like

I don't think Endwar is a bad game, since it's a RTS game with a creative concept such as using voice to control troops and with a good scenario, but I feel nowadays it's just plain and difficult to enjoy.
The story takes to an alternative future where European countries assemble forming a United States of Europe, while Russia expands its military force thanks to petrol. With this, both countries and the U.S.A enter in WW3. A cliché plot, but not to corny.
As I said, Ubisoft tried a new formula with the voice controls. Not a bad idea, but it usually doesn't work as planned. Besides that, the gameplay is more cinematic but so boring that it felt like me like an interactive movie than an actual game.
Visually it aged kinda well, knowing it's a game released back in 2008 yet some other RTS games vere more stunning such as Red Alert 3 or StarCraft 2.
The music and voice acting is unique, so I'll give my cheers to Ubisoft for that.
Multiplayer has shut down back in 2024, so there is no option to play besides the campaign.
The game costs 10€ on full price. During sales it costs 3€. It's up to you how much do you want to pay for it, but personally I wouldn't pay more than 5€ for it.
I guess that in PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2008 this game was just mind-blowing in the RTS genre, but nowadays it feels just like an old relic that aged poorly

The perfect entry level RTS. It's dirt simple, you don't need to do 800 actions per minute and fight against nothing but professional koreans. I don't think the voice command stuff works at all on PC, at least I've not managed to get it to work like it did back on the PS3. To make the game run in modern resolutions, simply start the game once, exit it, go to the file PCOfEngine and set the screen resolution to whatever you want.
