Engaging game-play loop, adorable dinos, and enough little twists to keep me hooked. This game is a MUST for dino lovers or colony sim players!

Surprisingly enjoyable game. I don't think I've ever played a colony sim before, so I was taking a gamble trying this one out. But it is actually pretty good. So far my biggest complaint would be the skills. For the entirety of the first island I made sure to upgrade past settlements and unlock new skills. Problem is I had no idea they had to be equipped. Each skill using a set amount of points, and you only having so many points available to use. This needs to be explicitly clarified. In similar indie games, Forager for example, these sort of skills are passive and free once unlocked. Being applied immediately. I assumed that was the case for this game. So either remove the point requirement (and have them become enabled automatically), or make it clear that these must be manually equipped. Also, I find it strange that young dinos use the "placeholder dialog sprite". The first time one had spoken to me I assumed it was the narrator (or perhaps developer?) providing another hint. As this is the same sprite used when the narrator talks. Even for a non-artist, the dialog sprites are very simple. So creating one (or a few if animated) for the young dinos would be trivial.

A small strategy game with very cute art, where you build settlements and defend them against attacks over ~10-minute levels. It took me about three hours to beat it, which for me felt worth the price. You could probably spend more time playing if you wanted to go for 100%, since I only saw about half of the unit and upgrade unlocks. I enjoyed the game overall, but the minimalism might be a sticking point for some people: you have very limited control over your units, and the game doesn't explain its mechanics in a lot of detail, so be ready to puzzle some mechanics out for yourself. In particular, I would have had a better time if I'd known beforehand that the attack phase of levels is triggered entirely based on population size.

Cute sprite and art but short and very simple. A bit misleading with how the enemies start attacking from reaching unit cap, not with time or number of buildings. Many combat mechanics seems interesting but a bit shallow. The game can become stale after 3 hours since you are overpowered by then and using the same strategy will blow through the game till the end. So a good short simple game to finish over night or a weekend.

This was a cute little one, honestly. And pretty good for a relaxed/casual game. There is combat in it, but instead of being time constrained of "when the enemies attack you", it is dependent on how many units you currently have made. This... Can be a bit of a problem to some but it also introduces a more strategic question: Do you build more Settlers, keeping the ones who survive with you after every 'level' to help you upgrade? Or do you make more soldiers- who disappear after the level, but make the auto-battle much much easier? I do have a few little nitpicks about the game. It doesn't tell you much but that is intentional. You're supposed to figure things out on your own, but there are some bits that I still... Don't quite understand. Like the little 'scenes' you make by adding/editing little stickers and make a small story about your chief dino. Super cute? Definitely. Reminds me of some of the sticker collections I had in the 90s as a cub. But what they actually did for you (if anything)? That is BE-YOND me. Even after playing through it twice. Unlocking the other dinos was a problem for me as well: after my two playthroughs I STILL was missing 4 units and their tents! I kinda blamed it on me just "using what was effective and not experimenting" but just looking into it now... I donno if anyone else has figured it out either :x Third little nitpick, enemies having AoEs. You see this a lot more late in the game, but some enemies will just absolutely Decimate your grouped units by attacking them in melee. Which makes those solider units feel a lot less useful- let alone walls. Even with 3x wall health, they get wrecked pretty quickly. I feel like the damage they do could be decreased or the 'AoE' effect only happens every other attack would be enough to help this. Otherwise, just stick with ranged units (if you've unlocked them). ANYWAY. Do I recommend DinoBlits? Very much so if you're looking for a very casual and damn cute colony sim game. I had a lot of fun with it, a few frustrations because I kept making the game 'harder on myself', but absolutely Zero 'Buyer's Remorse' on this one. Try the demo, and if you like it nab it if you've got the spare change

Very cute dinos, and rather fun almost sort of civ builder roguelite. The controls and how to play are rather unintuitive at first though.

I've just finished the game today after 3,4 hours of gameplay (1,1 hour yesterday). I was dissapointed that I had already finished that quickly, but yeah, you can still start a new game and just retry different tactics etc from the beginning. Because throughout playing, I tried several different tactics to see what progressed the best. It's a fun, cute, casual and yet challenging game, great filler if you want to play something guickly. I love the building, the settling, the expanding of your islands and then with more settlers you can upgrade and get more benefits, buildings, new dino's. Really glad I had added this game to my collection and that I spend my time on it, I'll probably revisit it again one day, when i want to have some fun.

A small game about a dinosaur tribe, trying to avoid extintion after surviving a meteorite. The game can be quite entertaining for the first 3 to 5 hours, after that, it becomes a somewhat repetitive. It can be misleading at first, but that can be solved by adding tooltips/descriptions in the building tab, so it explains what each thing does before actualy placing them, and explaining a little bit better how enemies start spawning, since it takes some time to figure out. Upgrading your acquired land and making the land quality change the posible rewards was a great idea, i really like this particular mechanic, since it rewards strategy. Even though the chief is your main character you dont really have any control over him, you have more control over settlers than your own main character, appart from that the main Stat and the chief's initial tribe dont feel like they add a lot apart from stats, which is decent, but could be improved. The soulmate is really usefull, and choosing about their 3 abilities really does make quite a difference, but choosing between the active and cheerfull one and the shy and introvent one doesnt make any noticeable difference, Im also still figuring out what global power is... The special event of foraging and invasion are a good addition, however the foraging eventually becomes boring (luckily there is a auto-forage option) and the invasions can be easily defeated by spamming long range attackers and once in a while a melee/tank. (while it also has a auto-battle option it doesnt fix the issue) The game doesnt add much replayability for being categorized as a roguelike, its not expected to add as much replayability as The Binding Of Isaac, Enter The gungeon, Slay the Spire or other big rogues, but in its current state it barely changes anything from the first to the second playthrough. The game has its fair share of potential, and for being the first time the dev/s uploads a game to steam its a really good start, as long as the developer/s dont overwhelm themselves trying to add or change too many things in a single update (unless its a planned and foreshadowed update), and keep caring about the game, the game will improve significantly Also, i love the game's aesthetic and the color palette.

What can I say, I just love how adorable it is. So derpy and hug-able. Also can be played in short bursts, and probably should. But if you are in the mood for a bite-sized colony sim that may or may not give you cuteness overload, this is it <3
