Very early thumbs up for a very early access game. I really like survivors-like games, and Hyperstange is developing something quite cool here. The core idea here is cool. Continue to refine the control and camera and polish. Very excited for the continued development of this one. A unique entry into the genre.

Good for a few levels, then turns into impossible/ pointless-but-we've-got-your-money-so-we-don't-care kinda thing.

Sells itself as a survivor-like. Isn't really. Caveat emptor.

Fun game but no real ending, story is only answered in part and otherwise is just left to guesswork.
Loved the game play, story needs work and completion.

Game is great, I have been playing on steam deck and it does function well.
I will let you know that the dodge and counter attack does not have a keybinding on the steam deck. I have just not used it and just bolt through enemies if it gets too heavy.
Otherwise the mechanics are great, graphics are cool and dark. some of the enemies are challenging, and there are plenty of quest to keep you engaged. I thought i was almost done with the game then 4 new quests came up from the town folk i saved earlier in the game. worth the $14USD price point in my opinion.

Dynasty Survivors/10. More comprehensive review coming soon (IF I don't forget to change it thanks to no small part of this superb game).
Edit 1:
Hmm, where were we?...oh yes, the comprehensive review, yeees, yes, right.
Heh, there is actually a Dynasty Warriors version of Vampire Survivors game in Steam tho. It just the price is such a head-scratcher. Maybe wait for Steam Discounts before getting 1.
Anyway.
The game, as of current, already in good foundation for an Early Access (EA). Imagine a single player Risk of Rain but in medieval setting with meta progression. Parry system also help with flow of the game. But, as it is with many case of EA, there are still few tidbit of kinks. Not very game-breaking ones, just some minor stuff like camera control and jumbling dialogues when talking to NPC in safe zones. On the other hand, game already have an endless mode for that sweet-sweet power fantasy endgame enjoyer.
Here for hoping the developer to add additional patches, fixes, weapons, maps, modes, missions, and lore-mainquest-plot extensions(?) down the road. Cheers.

I really want to like this for both its visual style and overall feel, but at the moment it's a very shallow game.

In it's current state I can not recommend this game for the price.
The levels all feel the same with the same enemies. You do 3-6 "missions" (waves with objectives) per run before fighting a some boss with high damage and less health than the levels biggest monsters. More than half the time you will get the mission "Survive the onslaught" -'Survive untill (dev typo) the horde retreats, which is a game mode that lasts fooooorrreever. Any run with 2 survive the onslaught missions in a row instantly feels like a long run-out slog.
Exploding dogs with less than a second to react to them running up and exploding. As well as Artillery dudes that will spawn and shoot you point blank, the red ring doesn't even show up on the ground you get hit so fast.
A very flawed parry mechanic that will get you often get you hit as you are coming out of the parry animation, there's a few frames where you stuck recovering back to normal stance where you can't move or dodge, but enemies can hit you.
But, the cheap enemies hitting you don't even matter, it just feels bad and causes unnecessary stress.
Healing is plentiful and if you run out you can pick up healing skills. I beat every level of the game and survived Rage for 2-hours / 5 guardian cycles without ever getting close to dying.
You've really got to be flubbing and picking every wrong skill, and never dodging or side-stepping to die in a run of this game in it's current state.
The voice lines are insanely repetitive. Get ready to hear the same 4 voice lines talking about some inane "song" every single time you level or interact with something in a run. The voice line for hitting shielded enemies with light attacks was so awful they've already an option to disable it. Now they need an option to disable the characters voice entirely during runs.
