It's creative and looks really nice. Love the humorous side of the game as well. There is a lot of good stuff in this short game and an ok story, but not this is the best metroidvania like sidescroller if you like/want to try the genre. Lot of options and cool stuff to fight and platforming, but sometimes it's really over saturated and punishing. I enjoyed all that 7 hours to beat it, but there is a technical issue when you enter a new area the game freezes out. (this is a bit annoying and you cannot do anything with it) If you want a decent game for a decent price you can pick it and buy it, but there are better games in the genre.

Guacamelee! Gold Edition is a hollow attempt to merge Metroidvania with Mexican folklore, resulting in a mismatched cacophony of mediocrity wrapped in a garish, Day of the Dead-themed wrapper. The game revels in its 'humor,' but its jokes land with the grace of a piñata stuffed with cement—forced, cringeworthy, and utterly devoid of wit. The combat is as repetitive as it is uninspired, relying on a tired combination of button-mashing and awkward platforming segments that feel more like punishment than challenge. The so-called 'luchador aesthetic' is little more than a gimmick, dressing up a shallow experience in flashy tights to distract from its lack of substance. Worse yet, the constant barrage of meme references and self-aware nods to other games feels like the developers were more interested in fishing for internet brownie points than creating a unique, engaging experience. By the time you trudge through the overlong, derivative levels, you'll wish you'd spent your time wrestling with something less painful—like deleting this game from your library.
