I play Alien franchise games since childhood. The fans knows that no software house or publishers had the talent to let this franchise really shine in one game.
This until Alien Isolation was released.
Finally some talented people have realized what I am proud to call a Masterpiece.
The most accurate phrase I could use to describe this game and "Alien Essence" in general could be: A Prey that escapes from it's Hunter.
Walking through Hallways, in low-light conditions with sound of metal scraps clinging together meanwhile you hear THAT sound not-so far away.. you get eaten inside by anxiety and pareidolia kicks in to let you survive.
This is exactly how this game let you feel.
For the same reason it does give you a big sense of accomplishment when you get things done.
Feel it on your own skin!
In addition "Last survivor" mode is a tribute to Alien Fans.
[ PS: I played this game and finished few times on my Xbox (2016-2018) so I recently got it also for PC]

Slight bugs at times, but other than that extremely good. Immersive, clever, and faithful to the series. A true story of an indomitable will versus insurmountable odds. I hope Ripley gets a long retro-futuristic vacation after this one.

Very fun game, 17 hours to beat it. dlc included.
Hard is brutally difficult, I'd recommend easy if you want a more relaxed experience.

kind of incredible but the ending felt very weirdly abrupt, like i just went through all that and then bam its over
i like it a lot! the art direction on this game is incredible, and i absolutely love that everything makes use of in-world objects rather than a more normal HUD approach
every now and then there would be a section or two that felt unfair or frustrating, but for the most part i'd say this is really well balanced and overall just a great horror experience (though a few extra auto-saves would probably still go a long way)

Absolutely adore this game, proud to say this was my first horror survival game and my god it was the perfect game. From the music, visuals, story it has it all. Highly impressed with the game optimisation too as it ran flawlessly and without glitches.
I need a part 2 of this game so bad
*also check out how the alien AI works as it adds new light and life into how truly good this game is made

If you love the Alien movies you will love this game. Beautiful graphics and sounds, fun fact: the development team got permission to use sound samples from the Alien series. When you play this game you feel like you are in an Alien movie, it is not for the faint of heart. This is one of my favorite games of all time, just because of how scary it was to play through the whole thing, especially on hard difficulty. I would recommend that anyone who pick up this game try and complete it, because it feels truly fulfilling.

The game starts off strong and then loses steam. Visually, it's amazing. This is obviously a very faithful adaptation and it fits the aesthetics and tone of the original films. The game creates such an effective atmosphere which puts you on edge and completely immerses you. So much of this game is great, but the gameplay itself is just tedious.
When you finally meet the alien, it isn't as scary as the rest of the game. I was more afraid of corridors and empty rooms than of the game's actual antagonist. The gameplay goes like this: you sit under a bed until the alien passes, then you move under another bed ten steps away, then you wait and watch the motion detector, then you move to a locker - rinse and repeat. Plainly boring.
Besides this, the level design is tedious too. I feel like I'm playing a PlayStation 2 game of the movie. You have to go get an item to unlock a door which lets you get a passcode to reactivate power to unlock another door. It's not fun at all. Ultimately, I feel like the unremarkable gameplay wastes the remarkable atomsphere. It's a build up to nothing.

Alien: Isolation is one of the best horror games I’ve ever played. It’s incredibly scary and I’ve honestly had to take breaks while playing cause things are so tense. The atmosphere is just amazing. It captures the feeling of the first Alien movies incredibly well. At no point did I feel like things were out of place or didn’t fit.
Sevastapool is a great setting, it looks amazing, andI think it balances horror and exploration well. I love the feeling of looking out at the giant planet it’s orbiting, it’s just great. The Xenomorph is a fantastic enemy, but everyone knows that already. It has great design and it’s AI makes the game challenging while not being completely unfair.
The gameplay (on harder difficulties) can be extremely unforgiving at times. Some missions have long stretches without a save point, and one small mistake can easily lead to death. However, I like that aspect of the game. Sure it can definitely be infuriating having to redo a big part of a mission cause of a small mistake, but I honestly think that adds to the game. You have to strategize and plan on how to get to certain places, and when that plan inevitably goes up in flames you have to think on the fly and use the tools available to you to escape.
The story is overall good, although it’s not perfect. It has some great high points: for example one mission ties in very well to Alien, and another takes the concept of Aliens and turns the horror-element up to eleven. However, I thought some parts of the plot were a tad bit contrived and I thought the ending was a bit confusing/lackluster (although maybe that will be cleared up in Alien: Isolation 2?). However with that said, I don’t think it diminishes the rest of the game.
Also I just have to praise the sound design, especially of the Xenomorph. The absolute dread you feel when you hear it start stomping towards you is fantastic. Hearing it scuttering about in the vents while you’re sneaking around, or realizing that it has decided to drop out of a vent right in your path is great.
All in all, Alien: Isolation is a fantastic game if you like horror or the Alien franchise. It is extremely scary, and has great references and tie-ins to the first 2 Alien movies. If you have ever wanted to know how it feel to hide from a Xenomorph in a small cramped locker, all while screaming for your life, this is the game for you.

Alien Isolation was one of the first survival horror games I've played and upon completing it I can say that's definitely worth it. It was interesting to follow a story set some time after the original Ridley Scott's movie. The stealth aspect of the game is implemented quite good - there are more than enough objects throughout the game where you can hide and sneak undetected. I also appreciated the crafting system - by collecting different materials and finding certain schematics Ripley crafts noisemakers (very useful by the way), molotovs (to kill androids and scary Xenomorphs off), EMP mines (to stun androids) etc. Playing the game on the hardest difficulty setting is quite an experience (but still, if you have enough patience, you'll even have enough crafting materials and can beat it without dying once). I've played on Hard and the Alien was hard to predict, thus I reloaded my previous saves quite frequently.
As I've already written in the beginning, the game is definitely worth the time. I'd recommend to wait for a discount and buy it on sale, which would be much cheaper.
