This game is like a mix between D&D and Binding of Isaac. It's a lot of fun and I was pleasantly surprised by all of the meta progression. You can find characters while exploring the dungeon, and they join you back at your camp. You can then upgrade those characters every time you get back to your camp. Those same characters can then join you again when you explore the dungeon. However, if you're not careful, you can permanently lose your characters that you have grown attached to and upgraded. That makes choosing to advance into a dungeon a much more important decision. The game play is simple but done well. I would definitely recommend this if you like turn based roguelikes with meta progression and dungeon diving.
